Which valve stem seals to use?

I have some iron heads I believe are date coded 1987, with pedestal mount rockers. I need to put new valve stem seals on the exhaust valves. (The umbrella style units on there now are too thick to go beyond .450" lift.) What is the recommendation?

I have some of the soft umbrella style ones out of a Fel-Pro gasket set, which would be the cheap option.

But there are those positive stop ones too. I see on the Summit web site they come in Teflon, Viton, Rubber, Viton fluoroelastomer, Viton rubber, Nylon, and Nitrile rubber. Too many choices, and I have no idea of the advantages of each of these material.

If I go with the positive stop kind, I would want not to have to machine the guides.

Any suggestions?
