Why do the early SVO's have 175hp and the laters have 200?

Is it only the computer that is different? I have an 85 SVO engine with 175hp I believe, should I invest in an 86 SVO computer or keep my stock computer, just turn up the boost with a manual boost controller and advance the timing a little?

One last question, which intake is better for the SVO I have the really wide one on the car now but also have in storage the intake that has the intakes stacked like a four barrel. Thanks guys!!!

www.svoca.com should answer all your questions but a brief one is that the engine received better stuff later on. better ecu with larger injectors, redesigned intake manifold, etc, etc.

Don't waste your money on the later PE ecu...they bring 200-300 bux and just aren't worth it. If you want to get your car to the later specs with larger injectors and such, pick up an ecu from an 87-88 turbo coupe. If you just want to make 200hp, just turn up the boost to 18psi and get a K&N cone filter...
