Ok, well I was looking into the 10.5 inch wide rear bullitt rims....will 265 (10.6 inch wide) tires fit in the rear of a 95' stang that has a 88' 8.8 rear axle in it without it rubbing. ( I did 5 lug swap to it)? Thanks!

17's or 18's?

I run a 315x35x17 rear tire on 17x11 rims I had to flip the quad shocks so they would fit.

The reason I ask if the rims are 17' or 18's is there is an issue with the inside fender as far as clearance goes. The added hight of the 18s makes this more of an issue as it puts you closer to this fender sooner than the with the 17's. You can beat on it with a BFHammer and gain some room...with a 17in rim and some beating in this area with no quads I would think 325-335's "might...might" fit on a 17in rim.

I don't know if i'd even attempt a 265 on a 10.5 inch wheel. I think you'd be looking at a very funny looking wheel. Minimum 295 on a wheel that wide. But go 315, for the look cool factor

I have 17x9 rims in the front and 275-40-17 tires on them...they are alittle too wide if you ask me...when these wear down I hope to get some 255-265's for the front.

The tire with a 275 is just a tad too wide and ever so slightly sticks out from the front fender...not much you realy have to look at it but I dont like it. Also the wide tire plays havoc with my align. and the roads around here SUCK (Missouri has like the 49th worst roads in the US) the wide front tires "catch" on the un-even surface and "wonder" on this un-even surface.

IMO, yeah, 275's are a hair too wide on a 17x9. I run 255's on mine ..... & think it is a hair too narrow. This leads me to believe a 265 tire is the perfect size for a 17x9 up front.

And on a 10.5" wheel .... you DO NOT wnat to put a 265 on there! That would look really wierd ..... not to mention that if you curbed it on accident .... your wheel would DEFINITELY take some damage. Go 315 or 325.

Well, it must be the different tire brands. I know my 255's are too narrow for the 17x9's. And they do not stick out of the fender wells.

Kinda like the Goodyear Eagle F1 315's will actually be "wider" than the Nitto 315's. It depends on brands. I'm definitely going with 265's my next time around.
