Will Goodyear eagle f1 275/40YR17 fit my 17x8 wheel

I have the 99/10 cobra wheels on my car. I believe its a 17x8 wheel. Can a goodyear eagle f1 275-40-17 fit on these wheels.

Should...I've had mine on for 3 months and no problems! I'm getting some 35mm spacers put in to fill the rear well out even better! Todd

It is not ideal...the tire will bow a bit and not all of the tread will touch the ground. 275/40 is meant for a 9 inch wheel

I agree. The biggest tire you can safely put on a 8" rim is 255. All these
other people with bigger tires are going to prematurely wear out their
tires and you are not going to get the most performance out of them.
Also the 275 will not fit the wheel correctly and you can damage the
tire and possibly the rim. Go with 255's.

Will it fit, yes.
Is it reccomended by tire experts, no.
Will guys swear its a perfect match, yes.
Will you get maximum performance out of the tire, no.

If you are looking for style over performance and tire life then go for it.
