Will larger rear tires hurt or help performance on my 06?

I was told they will hurt my torque... is this true? Will my top speed be increased then? Just want to know your guys opinion. thanks.

taller tires help top speed, but hurt take off speed. it changes your final drive ratio. it basically makes your gear ratio seem like a numerically lower ratio.

i assume that you had a 5 speed with 3.55s. basically if this is true, it would be about the same as using the stock wheels with 3.34 gear ratio. (standard 05/06 automatic and 07 ratio is 3.31) it would slow you down a little. the difference would be in the tenths, so not a huge deal unless you are trying to get the fastest ET possible. but you could fix that with a gear swap. :)

if you installed 4.30s, the effective ratio would be 4.04, very similar to stock heigt tires with 4.10s.
