I am getting ready to install my 9lb KB in my 01 automatic GT. I currently have 4:10's in the rear, will this be too much of a gear for the KB. I very seldom take her to the track and most of my driving is around town with a few hwy runs to the track or rod runs. I have seen alot of comments about stick cars and 4:10's but very few automatics.

I'm running 4:10s with a 6psi kit on a 5-speed, and she's a blast. Not a track car...just a totally fun street/show car.

A buddy of mine has the 9psi kit and a T56 six-speed and started with 3:73s....now he swapped out his 3:73s for 4:30s!!! He also went for 31 spline axles, cause he wants to take his down the track a few times.

I love the tall gear...and having the boost from the KB makes her a complete freak.

Based on how you describe your use of the car, I'd say go for it. If you feel that it's too much...it won't be a huge deal to swap them.

I'm staying with mine though....the combo is just too much damn fun.
