Well I guess you could say I'm relatively new to the board as I don't post. I like using the search button as much as possible until I'm absolutely stumped.

On to my question. In the near future I'm planning on going with the Trick Flow engine kit on my 88 LX. Right now the motor is on a stand and the engine compartment and everything is being cleaned up. The motor was running like crap when I got it. Turns out the injectors are crapped out and too much fuel was unloading into the cylinders along with some other crap. I need new fuel injectors. I figure with the Trick Flow kit 24 lb injectors would suite it quite nice. Therein lies my delimma I need injectors now in order for the car to get back running but at this time I haven't had a chance to come up with the money for the trick flow kit. Will the 24 lb injectors be too much until I can sell a kidney or two for the trick flow kit? I'll be converting to Mass Air before I get the trick flow so I'd like to just get the 24 lb injectors and matching mass air meter to go along and not have to spend the money twice. That is my delimma. Now help a brother out.

As long as you have a corrected MAF(using mass air conversion) sensor calibrated for those 24lb injectors, you will be perfectly fine.

If you want, people are constantly upgrading to bigger injectors, you could find a nice used set for cheap to get you buy.

*waits for friend from other thread to chime in on this, :rlaugh: *

Get a MAF (Pro-M is best) calibrated for 24 lb injectors and you should be good to go. Avoid the 93 Cobra computer and look for one from a 89-93 5.0 Mustang.

Injector cleaning is available from http://www.cleaninjectors.com/process.html

Fuel injector seal kits with 2 O rings and a pintle cap (Borg-Warner P/N 274081) are available at Pep Boys auto parts. Cost is about $2.74 per kit. The pintle caps fit either injectors with a pin sticking out the injector end or 4 with more tiny holes in the injector end. The following are listed at the Borg-Warner site ( http://www.borg-warner.com ) as being resellers of Borg-Warner parts:

http://www.partsplus.com/ or http://www.autovalue.com/ or http://www.pepboys.com/ or http://www.federatedautoparts.com/

Most of the links above have store locators for find a store in your area.

Thanks for the help fellas. I'm looking forward to getting the car in a good running state. I didn't pay much for it and it was running horribly when I got it on the trailer. Had a huge exhaust leak, big oil leak, and ran so rich it wouldn't run.

I think the car would have turned most people away but I've always wanted a stang and saw a great opportunity. I'll be around for a while, probly in the shadows searching like a madman.
