Window Tinting Question

$190.00 in Woodstock, GA with 35%... dark enough, car is DEFINITELY cooler in hot weather.... two offcier friends say they wouldn't look twice at that level, but WILL pull dark-tinted cars without hesitating... :notnice:

That is why I got louvers: they definitely help keep the car cooler in the summer without giving me problems with the local police. :nice:

This is a long read, but I've seen some wrong advice so I'll clear it up (atleast for Dallas)

The Tint laws here in Texas are pretty good. You can go as dark as you want (limo) in the back. The law in Texas only applys to the side windows, which can only be 35%. I have 5% in the back and small side windows, and 35% on the driver and passenger windows. It costs about $180 to get it done right. You can get it done a little cheaper, but you get what you pay for, and the stuff really takes a beating here in Dallas. You don't want it to turn purple in a couple of years. Go with something good like Vesco, or 3M. I've used both and never had a problem, plus they both warranty their product. I didn't like it when they stopped the tint at the dot matrix in the back window, so I had a dark strip of vinyl put over the top and it just looks like one big piece of tint. I got mine done at altamere on Lemmon, they did my stang and my wife's BMW and they both look great. She went with HuperOptiks (sp?). anyway it cost about $400, but that stuff isn't that dark and really blocks out about 80% of the heat, ask for a demo, it's amazing.
Hope this helps.

PS- I've never been pulled over for tint, I've had it for 5 years and Mine is DARK!!!

It has been said a few times but DO NOT get silver. I originally had 20% silver tint and got busted twice. I had it removed and black put on. I now have 5% on my back window and 20% on the sides and now the cops don't even look.

If it makes it any better, the truck is purple, and originally had narrow whitewalls. I was the palest homeboy you ever seen!!! :D
usually here its a truck or car, and its old, and crappy looking, and the tint is peeling..
if its a truck, in addition to the above, its lowered, with tiny like 14 inch rims that are really fat. and its got chrome on the wheel wells, and one of those truck visors. etc etc.

Even better, now you can go darker... Homie

But they are trying to make it more restrictive, Everybody in Texas DO NOT vote for Bill 345 which proposes Only a very light 50% film would be legal (not acceptable and upsetting to most).

So KILL BILL345
