Wont Start

my 65 L6 wont start.
I have replaced the starter, the starter solenoid, the battery, and all the battery cables including the one that runs from the starter solenoid to the starter. But when i get in it and turn the key, Nothing. i just fiqured out that if i take it out of park into reverse then back into park it starts up, whats the deal.

maybe nuetral saftey switch came unplugged or or out of adjustment?Try nuetral?

well as long as ive had the car i have never been able to start it from neutral.

neutral start switch needs adjsutment. get a shop manual and a 1/16 drill bit to adjust it. set the car to park and loosin it up abit untill you can move it. all you have to do is get the drill bit in and allign the two holes in park i believe to allow you to start the car. it will close the circuit in park and neutral. please somebody chime in and let us know if im correct. i dotn run the stock shifter anymore so its been awhile.

I had the same problem years back, neutral safety switch was the culprit.

They are right but the neutral safety switch may need to be replaced if that doesn't work.

ok i replaced the neutral safety switch and it was working wonderfull until tonight when i go to jump in her she wouldnt start like before. not even in neutral, is the switch off alignment?

thats my guess. get under the car and see if it came out of adjustment.
if so adjsut accordingly.
