Well, as an intelligent person, one has to take the mindset that there are two sides to every story. You don't really know how violent the woman was. We haven't seen video, but I have a hard time believing multiple officers couldn't have restrained her. Too many LEO's out there with itchy trigger fingers wanting to "break some heads". The words PEACE OFFICER seem very ironic to me sometimes. They should pay them twice what they make now, but give them polygraphs to make sure they really want to help people, and don't want a license to go around roughing people up.

I think the drive-thru workers should be allowed to have tazers.

Any time someone tries that "coning" crap... bzzzzzt!! :D

She probably would have got hurt worse if multiple officers had to put hands on her. Don't break the law and act like and idiot and your odds of getting tazed drop significantly.

Hurt worse? Are you serious? Have you read anything about how painful being tazed is? Not saying the woman wasn't an idiot, but shooting her with a tazer is way excessive.

Turns out she was a repeat offender.

Deputies used a Taser on a woman who wouldn't surrender to them after she cut into a McDonald's drive-through line and then refused to move her car without being served, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
Evangeline Marrero Lucca, 37, of the 100 block of Snow Hill Church Road, pulled up to the window of the McDonald's on Legion Road, near Black and Decker Road, on Friday afternoon and held up the line for about 20 minutes before deputies arrived, said Debbie Tanna, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.
Staff at the restaurant reported that Lucca drove her Ford Taurus to the pickup window, bypassing the order screen and payment window, and tried to order her food there, she said.
"She did not want to wait in line," Tanna said. "They told her she had to go around and wait like everybody else did and place her order that way, that they weren't set up at that window to take her order or take her money. ... She wasn't having any of that."
The woman refused to move her vehicle and became confrontational with the employees, she said.
"When we arrived, she really got mad," Tanna said.
Attempts to reach Lucca for comment were unsuccessful Friday.
Customer Anthony Rich said he pulled into the parking lot to order lunch and found a long line of cars at the drive-through. He said he got in line and waited, eventually getting up to the first window, where he commented about the long line.
An employee told him the woman was refusing to move, Rich said.
The employee told him the woman frequently comes to the restaurant and cuts in line, and that, "We're not having it anymore, so we called the cops," Rich said.
Lisa Powell, who owns the franchise for that McDonald's location, said in a prepared statement that employees called deputies "after lengthy conversation with the customer" about why her actions were unsafe.
Rich said deputies soon arrived at the scene and ordered Lucca to get out of the car, but she refused. The deputies continued their orders for about 20 minutes, until they finally removed a young girl, he said.
"Two or three officers entered the car with her and started trying to forcibly drag her out of the car, and that's when you could hear the clicking sound of the Taser one time," Rich said. "They pulled on her a couple of times, and then they Tased (stunned) her again, and when they Tased (stunned) her the second time, she just flopped out of the car like a fish."
Lucca was charged with second-degree trespassing. Social workers took custody of her 3-year-old child who was in the car, Tanna said.
Tanna said deputies are not allowed to use Tasers on a person who simply refuses to comply with orders without danger involved, but in this case Lucca was engaging in "threatening behavior."
"Our top priority was making sure people weren't hurt because we didn't know if she was going to drive the car off and run over somebody," Tanna said. "Then there was the baby in the car we were concerned about."
The deputies performed a "drive stun" on Lucca, a technique that does not involve firing probes into the target's skin, she said.
A drive stun involves removing the Taser cartridge and touching the weapon directly on the skin to create a "pain compliance effect," according to the Fayetteville Police Department's use of force policy. A drive stun is applied to pressure points on the surface of the skin and allows officers to restrain a suspect without full incapacitation.

She refused to comply with law enforcement, had a history of being confrontational, and give me a f'ing break, she wasn't sitting calmly in the car asking politely if she could just pull in front and get what she needed, then continue on her way. You know she was freaking out once the cops got called. I mean really, she doesn't have the patience to wait in line for fast food. Really.

Do all that and refuse to comply then wrestle with officers? Good luck not getting zapped. The cops aren't going to wait to see if you get worse.

Sounds like the woman in question above was quite an idiot, but check this one out. Dude is on the ground face down surrounded by cops and they nail him. Wow.

I would rather be tazed than tackled by a few cops. Broken ribs...whatever. Pain of that will last longer.

I give props to the workers who refused. People need to stand up to the irresponsible people who think they can bully their way through this world without consequence and care about other people.

**** that woman. Selfish living only gets so far and I am a proud supporter of that philosophy.

You do realize that most take a polygraph exam as well as a physc eval correct? I agree with the very first part though ;)

They should be paid more, Van. A LOT more. Maybe then they could have a better selection while hiring. Dude the stories I could tell you about our local PD would stagger your mind. But, I'm sure you've seen your fair share as well. I personally stood on the lawn of the Angleton police dept years ago and watched a Sergent grope another officer's wife. Her husband was a friend of mine and the groper was his boss. When he spoke up about it, his boss told him to shut up if he liked his job. STANDING IN FRONT OF ME. That's the kind of bold audacity that I can't stand, man. I know there are a lot of great cops out there, unfortunately there are a lot that suck too.

That is with any profession and I understand where you are coming from as I have been around this field since I was 19 years old when I first started in communications. As for a taser hurting...it does! Haha but I would take it twice before wanting to get pepper sprayed again.

For a second, IMAGINE what kind of world we would live in where people could do this kind of thing and get away with it?

Its like this: Obnoxious, self centered, egotistical idiot, decides she is better than everyone else so she is going to just cut in line and if they won't surrender to her demands then she is just going to cause problems and make a big scene and doesn't think there is anything anyone can do about it. A business doesn't not have to server her, in which for good reason they did not. At this point she had no business there, so she was trespassing. She held up business and blocked others in lieu of her not getting her demands. She was actively ROBBING the business. I am sure she refused to be moved by the officers so she deserved to be tazed as she was in commission of a CRIME. The minimum of what she was doing is disorderly conduct.

Sometimes the long arm of the law has to reach out and backhand someone a little.

I was at a walmart one time and saw something similar, where a lady was mad about something and refused to move, just stood there making noise and yelling and screaming at people. The police came and arrested her.

The name "Evangeline" sounds like a hood rat if I have ever heard of one.
