You guys ever find TDC this way?

    Finally decent temps to go outside and check some stuff out like clean cap and rotor, tb,maf,idle, tps, and and timing ,but my grease pencil marks have vanished and I cant quite make out the marks on the balancer so I am going to put a piston stop in the #1 hole and rotate right untill the piston hits the stop then put a mark on the balancer where the pointer is at , then rotate left untill the piston hits the stop that way also and mark it there, then measure between the two marks and that will be TDC, and then I could put some decent timing tape on and line it all up yes? I put some 89 midgrade gas in it the other day and it's rattlling like mad so I got the timing light out and just retarded it but dont know EXCACTLY how much.:nonono:

    This is the way you are SUPPOSED to do it, and yes, I have done it. It's a little better than using a dial indicator because there is some 'dead space' when you get to TDC.
