I have a huge box of parts I want to get plated--tail light housings, door latches, strikers, hood/trunk latches, turn signals, and tons of misc small brackets and bolts. I was considering getting them zinc plated as it will be a nice silver color, kind of shiny, but not too shiny. I really don't care too much about originality as my car is, well, my car.

I have heard that with zinc plating you have to get it baked or it just scrapes off later. I also have heard the contrary. Anyone know any different? How much different is the finished appearance of zinc plating compared to cad plating? What kind of prep work have you done prior to taking your stuff for plating? Thanks for any help!!!
