The official Ford Mustang YouTube channel has unleashed two nice 2011 Ford Mustang videos to perhaps tease out promotional ideas to come for TV advertising. The first video exhibits the new 2011 5.0 Mustang GT and the latter shows off the screaming V6 Mustang. Like most anything we’ve seen come out of the Ford shop recently, these two spots are well put together and also exhibit some detailed internal Ti-VCT engine action. Hit the jump to check them out!

Mere weeks after the wrapping was removed from the 2011 Ford Mustang GT, media moguls everywhere got some good seat time in, putting the latest Ford pony car through the paces. The gents at Motor Trend were some of the first to officially chronicle a sanctioned test between three of the major competitors in the pony car wars. The 2011 models tested were the 5.0-liter Ford Mustang, the Chevrolet Camaro SS, and the Dodge Challenger SRT-8. They were stacked head to head and rigorously tested on the track as well as the open road. In the video after the jump, Motor Trend quickly notes that the new 5.0 Mustang is by far the closest thing to a true modern day muscle car; something powerful, agile, and surprisingly comfortable to drive.
What do you get when you start with a base Ford Mustang coupe in stock form and turn it over to AmericanMuscle (AM) & Swarr Auto? You end up with a 2005 V6 Mustang that gets tweaked beyond imagination in order to see just how many horses the little sixer-equipped pony car can pump out. The guys over at AM have compiled a series of videos to capture just what they’ve done in order to see where they start, what makes the biggest impact, and where they end up with this aftermarket project. The first video in the series features Dave Kaeck (from AM) kicking things off at Swarr Auto with a baseline dyno run to get the raw numbers, plus a first look at the huge variety of parts being installed on the ’05 Legend Lime V6.

What happens when spirited rivals are finally pitted to race against each other? What happens when there’s sanctioned speed with the cameras rolling? A damn good time, that’s what. On April 5th, 2010, SPEED TV will show the full episode of the Forum Wars TV spot featuring StangNet.com against My350Z.com. Rob Krider takes the wheel of a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT outfitted with Hoosier Tires, Carbotech Brake pads, and I/O Port Racing Supplies harnesses. Rob’s been a Ford Mustang lover for some time, with his collection ranging from a 1992 Mustang 5.0 LX notch police interceptor to a 2001 Mustang Bullitt in which he autocrossed & drifted at various SCCA events. Over the years, he’s always counted on the StangNet site and community for a lot of his setup & technical advice on all of his Ford Mustangs.
Stay tuned to SPEED to see who comes out on top! Until April 5th arrives, we’ll have to get by on the teaser video after the jump…
It really shouldn’t come as a surprise that the 2011 Ford Mustang is serious about two things: power & efficiency. The folks at Inside Line decided they would just put Ford’s claims at the 2011 Mustang GT producing 412hp & 390 tq to the test. The dyno video shows a new 5.0 GT strapped in for several pulls on the Dynojet to see just what the true power ratings are after driveline saturation soaks up the promises that would be. The result? Ford’s underrated the pony car yet again.
After seven dyno pulls, the testing staff reported the car consistently produced 395hp at 6600 RPM and 365 pound-feet of torque at 4350 RPM. If you take these figures and realize the parasitic effects of the drivetrain (some 11 to 13 percent loss), the latest Ford Mustang GT with the 5-oh is pumping out somewhere between 438 and 446 horses at the crankshaft. We’re no math majors by any means, but we do know that 438 or 446 > 412 (the advertised rating by Ford).
This isn’t the first time Ford’s underrated the Mustang’s power output for “good” measure and we suspect it won’t be the last. What we have here is a serious motion to kick sand in the face of bow tie fans everywhere; and we’re glad it’s back.
After getting a glimpse of the latest packages and trimmings the 2011 Shelby GT500 Ford Mustang will have, it seems we are now privy to a little more of the story with this teaser video of the car. The forthcoming 2011 GT500 seems to fit well with the descriptions we’ve heard of thus far; this video helps reaffirm the styling cues mentioned prior. Sadly, however, the video is back-dropped with music, so we don’t get the real aural bliss we long for–the intoxicating whine of forced induction. Nonetheless, it’s still a nice clip, so check out more of the next Shelby GT500 via the moving pictures. It’s the best we have until right after Super Bowl Sunday, when the official reveal is slated (Monday).
After unleashing the 2011 Ford Mustang details earlier this morning, we thought we’d show you a video collage of the killer growl of the latest & greatest 5.0 Mustang. Take a deep breath, hold onto your wallet, and watch this video of the 2011 Mustang feature highlights and a dyno run to 7,000 RPM!
The 10th and conclusive installment in the ’10 Unleashed series of the Ford Mustang ends with a total bang! You’d better watch the video and see for yourself just how cool the magical illusion of Vaughn Gittin Jr “driving through” a restrained Steve Wyrick really is. Wyrick’s grandfather owned a 1970 Mustang Mach I, so he wanted to take his granddad’s favored car breed and do something truly awesome and unique with it. The Legend lives on indeed, with Wyrick’s tribute utilizing the 2010 Ford Mustang to wow the Las Vegas crowd. After you check out the video, be sure to check out the rest of the story in the official Press Release from Ford!
This latest installation in the Ford Mustang Unleashed campaign by Ford is a video clip capturing a summary of the nine Unleashed video stories to date & a teaser of sorts for the capstone to come. From an Unexpected Turn of male bonding to a whiplash ride in a Mustang Rally car, this video series has provided the 2010 Ford Mustang a serious marketing punch. Tomorrow (12/14/09), the final video story is set to be exhibited, touted, and proclaimed as the greatest stunt in the series yet. Keep your eyes peeled for “Mustang Spellbinder” and wait for the magic to happen!
It’s not uncommon to see a Ford Mustang set for duty as a weekend warrior at the track, being tweaked for road racing, or stalking the tree to make a few 1320 passes. What we did find unique about the latest 2010 Unleashed video series installation is that somehow, J.B. Niday managed to turn a new 2010 Ford Mustang into a bona fide rally car. You read it right–a rally car. Serving as the managing director of Rally America, Niday set up the 2010 Mustang GT with a roll cage, racing seats, a rally computer, off-road tires, and a HID light bar in hopes of winning at the Ojibwe Forest Rally in Minnesota. So how well did Niday’s 2010 rally Mustang perform? You’ll have to check out the Press Release and watch the video to find out!
