SEMA 2011: HR Springs Project Legend Ford Mustang

 Nov 5th 2011

2011-sema-hr-springs

The 2011 SEMA show in Las Vegas brought on special editions galore of the famed Ford Mustang, and one more that caught our spied-eye, was the 2012 Mustang “Project Legend” put together by H&R Special Springs LP.  The idea here?  Combine harnessed American muscle with a European styled suspension to make for a car capable of slithering down the Autobahn without missing a beat.

H&R took a 2012 Ford Mustang GT and added a whole host of suspension components to bolster the overall ride and responsiveness of the pony car.  Such add-ons include RSS Club Sport coil-overs and H&R Sway Bars, upgraded tires / wheels, and LOTS more goodies to bolster the power, as well as the appeal of the H&R Springs “Project Legend” Ford Mustang GT.

Check out more detail in the PR that follows!

Kenny Brown GT-4T turbocharged Ford Mustang at SEMA 2011

 Nov 1st 2011

If you’re out and about at the 2011 SEMA Trade Show in Las Vegas today (through the 4th of November), be sure to locate the Dynapack Dyno booth to check on one serious turbo’d Ford Mustang.  Kenny Brown’s GT-4T will be on-hand to show you some serious “Mango Tango” pony car magic.  How so, you might ask?  Well, Kenny’s latest weapon in the arms cache is a screaming orange flavored hued Mustang GT loaded with a complete, tuned chassis suspension package gleaned from years of street & tracking tuning and is capitalized upon by a crisply European behavior when taxed.

The crown jewel atop, or below, rather…is the Kenny Brown BiTurbo system which gives this Ford Mustang an incredible jump in base horsepower, allowing for incredible pedal response in addition to killer handling characteristics, otherwise.

There’s lots more engineered and applied to this car, so keep reading (or go see the car at SEMA, directly) to get the rest of the story in the press release.

Newly New – the 1965 Ford Mustang

 Oct 29th 2011

So what happens when “the one” Ford Mustang you’ve always been after just continues to remain elusive?  Give up?  Never.  Hit up custom craft car makers?  Maybe.  Get the shell straight from Ford, licensed, and ready to slap parts on?  Yes.  Wait…what?

You read right.  Ford’s opened up a whole new door for the rest of us that aren’t into completely ad hoc kits or can’t find that perfect resto-mod opportunity by offering up 1964½, 1965, or 1966 Ford Mustang body shells made from high-quality automotive-quality steel, surpassing material strength found in the original production Mustangs.

So when are these awesome pieces hitting the (after)market?  Quite soon–November 1st, 2011 at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.  Keep reading for the full scoop in the official Press Release from Ford Motor Company.

2013 Shelby GT 500 to have 600+ hp 5.8 V8

 Oct 5th 2011

20111005-091826.jpg

Details surrounding the 2013 Mustang Shelby GT500 have surfaced as part of a new labor agreement between Ford & the UAW, foreshadowing what should lead to a modular rendition of the 351ci / 5.8l Romeo-built power plant, slated to land in the 2013 Shelby GT500. Sources say this engine should easily pump out over 600hp, putting Ford Mustang ahead of the ZL1 in the race to the moon. “How so?”, some might ask…well, the reported 5.8l V8 is to be supercharged as well.

Keep your eyes peeled for more 2013 Mustang and Shelby GT500 details as 2013 approaches…

Paul Brown takes the #50 BOSS 302S Ford Mustang to the top

 Sep 30th 2011

All summer long, we kept Ford Mustang fans posted on the hot racing action Paul Brown has put down in the #50 2012 Mustang BOSS 302S racer and now, he’s got even more to be proud of.  Brown recently placed first in the 2011 Pirelli World Challenge Race, solidifying the GTS Championship title.  Just one more race remains in the 2011 season, but Brown has already matched honors with the legendary BOSS 302 racer, Parnelli Jones–if he gets one more “W” in his final race at Road Atlanta, he’ll get to scribe his name in the books of Ford Mustang racing legends.

Awesome. We saw Tiger Racing’s Mustang in action back in June at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit and seriously, it put a good hurting on the track.  Brown’s got some good mojo going behind the wheel of this 2012 BOSS 302S and we wish nothing but the best for him & Tiger Racing.

ROUSH Hyper Series Stage 3 Ford Mustang

 Sep 26th 2011

Looks like there is another 2012 Ford Mustang to hit the streets, based upon the already awesome ROUSH Stage 3 (RS3) Mustang crafted by ROUSH Performance.  This 2012 Mustang “Hyper Series” Stage 3 boasts a whopping 540hp and 465ft-lbs of torque, has a fully-tuned suspension capable of pinning over 1G of lateral force, and of course, continues to follow in the steps of warranted craftsmanship we all know well enough from ROUSH Performance products.

So what sets the Hyper Series Stage 3 apart from its vanilla namesake?  A barrage of 4 limited edition appearance packages set to mark the cars with a bit more panache and attractiveness than what’s normally expected by the ROUSH enthusiast crowd.  There are 288 graphics and paint color combos that could be had by any prospective ROUSH Mustang owner.  The Hyper-Series brings on an offering of “four spectacular and unique graphics and interior colors that provide a customized appearance to the RS3.”

Keep reading to get the rest of the story in the PR, as well as a peek of the ROUSH Stage 3 Hyper Series in an official video.
