Tremec T56 6-Speed Transmission Install

With more power and steeper gears on our mind we set our sights on Tremec's T56 6-speed transmission for Project Bullitt. The Tremec T56 handles high engine torque beautifully and the sixth gear helps get some drivability back with PBullitt's 3.73 gears. We consulted with Tremec Transmissions and they agreed that their T56 Tranny would be exactly what we needed for our project car.

MAC Prochamber - Dyno Results

One of the first things we did to our Project Bullitt was to remove the stock H-Pipe and replace it with the MAC Pro-Chamber.  There was a noticeable difference with the change.  The exhaust note we were able to achieve was great.  The Bullitt comes with Arvin mufflers stock from the factory and the Pro-Chamber really woke it up.  Off idle has a nice quiet note but once you get into the throttle she comes alive.  Great modification for the car.  You can see our dyno results here.

MIL Eliminators

When you put on an off-road H-Pipe, MAC Pro-Chamber or X-pipes with or without cats, your check engine light can come on.  Your onboard computer gets a false reading from the rear O2s.  Pony Express Performance has a solution to this problem with their MIL Eliminators.  Installation is a snap.  All you need is some cutting pliers, electric tape, a soldering gun (not necessary) and a wrench to remove the rear O2 sensors.  These eliminators are offered at a great price and are warranted free of defects for one year.

Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter

Who likes sloppy shifts?  The new 3650 Tranny found in later 2001 Mustangs and all 2001 Cobras and Bullitts, is a great improved transmission, but it feels as though the shift throws are even longer than the older T45.  To correct this problem, we decided to go with a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter.  Installation is straight forward and the reward is well worth it.  The change gives you and your car a new attitude.  A Mustang is about performance, the Tri-Ax takes it to the next level.  (full article)

MGW Billet Accessories

The 2001 Bullitt Mustang came with some great accessories from the factory.  But we wanted to make ours a little different from the rest.  We contacted MGW who are known for their quality billet accessories.  Enhancements include:  Shift Knob, A/C Knobs, Headlight Knob, Cigarette Lighter, Billet Fuel Door, and their new Shifter Handle.  All MGW accessories are CNC machined and finished for the best look in appearance and wear.  Follow along as we modify our Bullitt  | Billet Interior Pieces | MGW Shift Handle | MGW Billet Fuel Door |

Invinca-Shield Front End Protector

StangNet is in love with their new Bullitt Mustang.  Wear and tear is a great concern.  One of the most noticeable things that can happen to your Mustang is bug and rock damage to the front end.  Some solutions are to either put on a bra, which we feel just takes away from the car and its image, or to just not drive it, and that is just nuts. :)  Now there is another solution.  3M's ScotchCal is a tough urethane plastic that can withstand rocks, bugs and other flying objects.  Invinca-Shield custom cuts this material to fit on the front all types of vehicles to include the Mustang.  If you want to protect your car without it really showing, this is the way to go.

CDC Quad Lamps

The 2001 Bullitt Mustangs did not come with the standard GT driving lights.  However, we wanted something similar on our car.  We opted to go with the Classic Design Concepts Quad Lights.  Installation was straight forward.  Besides looking great in the day or night with these European styled lights, they shine bright as well and are very effective in helping you to see better.
