The focus on cold air induction and ram air kits has been a hot topic in the automotive aftermarket of late. So StangNet sought out an innovative kit that would give a fresh and unique look and installed it on our ’91 GT Project Car. Banshee Performance's RAM JET, a fully functional, Ram Air, “shaker” kit for the ’86-’93 5.0 FI Mustangs caught our attention.

The Banshee RAM JET is a true “shaker” high performance Ram Induction System that gave our ’91 GT the appeal and connection to the classic muscle car, not to mention the kit’s high flow design translates into more power for our Five Liter. Banshee Performance supplied us with a complete kit that was remarkably easy to install. Follow along as we add power to and improve the appearance of our late model 5.0.

We started with basically a stock '91 GT engine. The only modifications are a K&N Panel Filter and BBK Headers with Flowmasters.	After unbolting the hood, we had to remove the underhood bracing before cutting the hole for the scoop. This was accomplished with an air cutting tool, but a dremel was used as well. (We didn't forget safety...using goggles, and watching for sparks.)
After removing the bracing we established the centerline of the hood, where we set the supplied template in place.	Again, the air tool was used for the cut, but the dremel was especially handy in the corners, as it provided us smoother turns.
