2010 Roush 427R Mustangs at the track

What’s one of the ultimate blessings you could receive on your Ford Mustang modification achievement?  One note of praise might be to have professional drivers declare and speak of its awesomeness.  That’s just what happened when Jack Roush turned his NASCAR Sprint Cup & Nationwide Series drivers loose with the keys to a fleet of 2010 ROUSH 427R Mustangs.  The scene of the crime?  Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Ford Mustang racing body parts

The 2010 Ford Mustang has already become the benefactor of several awesome aftermarket applications and treatments.  From the ROUSH 427R to the latest Steeda Q-Series, we have seen some very impressive showing from some key aftermarket players, further keeping Mustang fans equipped for the strip and road course.  At the recent 3rd Annual Ford Racing Invitational at Milan Dragway in Michigan, Ford announced the forthcoming availability of white keyed body parts for boy racers based on the 2010 Mustang.  These rare shells are compliant with most any class, so there’s surely a niche to be filled for the racing freaks out there.  Orders for the parts will start in mid-July and will continue through the fall, with orders being delivered sometime in December.  Aside from the newly-announced exterior panels, a number of interior trim and wiring kits will also be available for racers to fit into any desired class they wish to compete in.  If you happen to know any hardcore Mustang racers out there, the chance to upgrade to some novel paneling and tech is here!

Roush Power Pipe

Following closely on the coat tails of the the 2010 Roush 427R Ford Mustang, the folks at AFM have taken the wraps off their latest aftermarket intake piece.  This Roushcharger Power Pipe Kit (PKAF-0126C) for the 2009 – 2009 Ford Mustang is specifically tailored and tweaked (utilizing the new Abaco DBX 97mm digital mass air meter) to be applied to Mustangs equipped with the Roushcharger.  The PKAF-0126C is also equipped with the largest air box on the market, with over 819 cubic inches of cool, dense air flow being passed to the DBX 97mm digital MAM.  A 4.5″ mandrel bent, ceramic coated Power Pipe brings the fruit to market and results in a flow rate of 1300 CFM.

2010 Roush Ford Mustang

The debut of a new Ford Mustang always seems to grab the attention of fans worldwide–Roush Mustangs are no exception to the rule.  Just this morning, Roush Performance unveiled its latest 2010 Mustang variant, the 2010 427R Mustang, at their Livonia, MI assembly plant.  The basics behind the beast are much the same as some of the prior Roush Mustangs, and we know well enough the 427R is no stranger to power.  The blown 4.6L powerplant is set to produce 435 horsepower and about 400 lb-ft of torque courtesy of an upgraded intake and enhanced cooling system.  Outside, the 2010 Roush 427R appears to have the known features expected on any styled Roush product.  Side stripes, a new front fascia, front splitter, rear fascia, side sills, a three-piece rear wing, and 18-inch (20″ optional) wheels all round out the appearance changes to the 2010 Mustang.  Down under, you’ll find the same quality underpinnings found on other Roush editions: new springs, shocks, and sway bars.  Keep reading to catch all the details in the official Press Release from Roush and of course, to get a better look at the car thanks to the eye candy we have in store for you!
