2015 Ford Mustang wins best design award

It’s not even entirely ready for mass-distribution, and it’s already winning awards.  The 2015 Ford Mustang was able to nab a Design award at the Detroit auto show, almost a week ago.  We’ve seen this car come from the span of complete rumor, to rendered speculation, and now…production & forthcoming burnouts sales.  What’s the big deal, you say?

Well, it’s not every day you hear about a regular production muscle/pony car having its 50th birthday, winning Design awards mostly reserved for extreme concepts, and keeping the tradition of American automotive history alive and well, for many miles and years to come.  I mean, c’mon, the Camaro kept the heartbeat thumping from 2003 to 2009, right?  Sorry, closet bow tie boy & girls; I had to let that one slip out…

2011 Ford Mustang earns Top Pick honors

While it comes no surprise to Ford Mustang fans worldwide, the fine folks over at Consumer Reports have concluded the 2011 Mustang is one to make the Top Picks list this year, under the Sporty car category. It’s come as a surprise to some in the news & media field, but c’mon, really? The 5.0 Mustang is back and it’s bad, folks! We’re guessing what seems to be shocking people in the circulars the most is the fact Consumer Reports typically awards such accolades to cars which overly excel practicality and value. What’s more, this is only the 2nd time an American-made automobile has won the Sporty car category. That’s quite amazing! Last time this happened, it was with the Ford Focus SVT back in 2004.

Head over to CNN Money to catch the rest of the story as well as the video on the Top Picks by Consumer Reports.

Car&Driver mark Ford Mustang as the Best

Ford Mustang fans know it.  Much of the competition (both domestic AND foreign) knows it.  It makes it all the more sweet when a reputable media outlet, such as Car&Driver, confirms it.  That’s right, the editorial staff there has selected the 2011 Ford Mustang GT as “the best”.  With a price tag hovering around the $30K mark, 400+ hp on-tap, and a million aftermarket customization combinations, it’s a no-brainer to us…but it does help validate our blue blooded passion to hear it from a relatively objective source.

Keep reading to read the digest of their summary in their overall report of picks for 2011′s “best”.

2011 Ford Mustang GT takes Best Resale Value honors

Surprise (or maybe not), Ford Mustang fans, the 2011 Mustang GT has just received the KBB.com best resale value award.  It looks like the amalgam of Ford’s innovation, engineering, marketing, and quality has paid off and is continuing to strengthen many of Ford’s brands aside from the Mustang; the Taurus and Super Duty pickup truck also took honors from KBB.  The award itself basically recognizes how well the vehicle holds up in value compared to its original list price after five years of ownership.  The Mustang took the cheese for the high-performance car category and if 2012 goes anything like this year’s model, we’re comfortable with saying the feat could repeat next time.

With classic muscle styling, a 412hp 5.0 liter power plant, and a sticker price hovering around $30K, the Mustang GT has a lot to offer potential buyers enthusiasts.  Check out the full story, straight from Ford, after the jump.
