The renowned Barber Motorsports park held host to a notable happening this past weekend: three Ford Mustang racing teams took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to pound the podium with blue-blooded pride. After coming up short last year at Barber, the JBS Motorsports Ford Mustang, piloted by Bret Seafuse & James Gue, reached the top after leading 65 of the 90 circuits. The next car following in this Grand-AM KONI Sports Car Challenge event was the No. 59 Rehagen Racing Ford Mustang, which led for the race twice for seven laps. Rounding out the podium in the 3rd slot were Billy Johnson and Jack Roush Jr in the No. 61 Horsepower Racing Mustang, providing a true Ford sweeper at Barber. Hey Ford Mustang fans, here is a hot scoop, straight from the good folks at Ford Racing–it’s Vaughn Gittin, Jr. tearing up a set of tires at the 45th Anniversary celebration of the Ford Mustang.  We were able to see it first-hand and we’ve gotta say–it was quite the impressive smoke show at Barber Motorsports Park (Alabama) that day!  This is one clip you won’t want to miss!

After this past whirlwind of a weekend, we have barely had enough time to sit down, reflect, and think about what just happened at the 45th Anniversary Celebration of the Ford Mustang in Birmingham.  Now, on a Monday afternoon, it’s all starting to soak in.  We ran into thousands of Mustang fans, hundreds of vendors, hung out at the CDC booth (assisted in some installations!), caught some sweet racing at Barber, and of course, caught a feast for the eyes (hot cars) as well as the belly (good, down-home cooking).  Most importantly, we were able to share about 95% of the 45th Mustang Anniversary LIVE with you, the Ford Mustang enthusiast community.  Between our twitter coverage and live video, we did our best to make sure fans were able to see what they wanted to, regardless of attending the celebration. Continuing the coverage of the ROUSH Racing Team on the road course, we decided to share another video after exhibiting the clip from the race at Watkins Glen earlier this season. The tag-team effort in the ROUSH #59 Ford Mustang in this KONI Challenge race gave the spread something to fear at Barber Motorsports Park.  Starting in the 11th slot, the #59 Mustang had a lot of ground to make up in order to provide a substantial showing…and that she did.  Take a good look and enjoy some more excellent firsthand driving footage straight from the source: Roush & StangNet!
