Mustang Week 2011 recap27 Jul

With the heat (wave) of summer in full swing for Ford Mustang fans nationwide, we all know it means getting together for cruise-ins, track events, and most notably–massive Mustang meets.  Unless you have been under a proverbial rock for the past decade, then you’re well aware that Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach, SC is one of the most popular gatherings for Mustang maniacs from all nooks of the country.

This year, the StangNet crew was able to join in the festivities with our latest project car, Built to Cruise, and enjoy all the camaraderie on the Atlantic seaboard.  With over 600 Mustangs on-hand and lots of good racing & shining, BTC was a sure-fire hit with late model Mustang and Fox Mustang enthusiasts.

After a decent bout of showing off all the rides in the show, a series of racing events kicked off and all willing Mustang riders were able to put their money pits on the pavement to show just what the driver mod could do.   The results?  Aside from some serious fun for the whole family, you’ll have to keep reading to get the scoop from the Press Release inside.

OVER 600 CARS in the SHOW!

CDC Shaker for the new 5.0L Ford Mustang02 Apr

Aftermarket players have always done well with the Ford Mustang and Classic Design Concepts (CDC) is no exception to the norm.  They are back in headlines this week with an all-new 5.0 Mustang Shaker Hood System, which is designed to fit the 2011 (and up) Mustang GT.  This kit is crafted to be a direct fit and match perfectly with OEM specifications, as is any other CDC Mustang project.

What’s more, the CDC Shaker Hood kit maintains the use of all factory attachment points, leaves the under-hood state just as it was before installation, and leaves the factory strut tower brace alone.  But wait, there’s more! Additionally, there’s not paint or grunt work required to make the fitment and finish look like it came “that way”.

For more on the new CDC Mustang Shaker Hood kit, keep reading to get the full scoop in the Press Release that follows.

CDC shaker hoods for 2010 and 2011 Ford Mustang04 Sep

The Ford Mustang has never been a stranger to aftermarket treatment and the latest renditions of the legend are no exception to the norm.  Classic Design Concepts, one of the forerunners in the automotive tailoring industry, has just recently taken the bubble wrap two new Shaker hood systems for both the 2010 and 2011 V6 and GT Ford Mustangs.  The goal here?  Provide just that extra bit of style and panache every owner wants, but maintain quality, form, and function all the while.

These Shaker hood systems are tried and true, keeping the Mustang coupe and Mustang GT up to par in quality, as CDC has spent numerous hours in R&D on these kits over the past several years on the first generation of S197 Ford Mustang.

Keep reading to check out the rest of the story in the Press Release from CDC.

CDC Weekend Warrior to compete in 2010 Gumball 300001 May

The “Undefeated” Team from Classic Design Concepts (CDC) is set to put their SEMA special to the test in the 2010 Gumball 3000 rally race.  The “Weekend Warrior” Ford Mustang , which we saw enter the stage at SEMA, is no stranger to being a dualistic track and street terror.  “The concept behind the Weekend Warrior, which we unveiled at SEMA in 2009, was to build a street legal Mustang that could also double as a track car,” said George Huisman, president of Classic Design Concepts.

The Weekend Warrior Ford Mustang is well-poised to take on the field, with add-ons including, but not limited to: Ford Racing parts, upgraded rubber on all 4 corners, Baer braking, and Maximum Motorsports suspension components.

Take a good look at the laundry list of goodies CDC has thrown onto the Weekend Warrior Mustang and wish the “Undefeated” Team from CDC good luck in the Gumball 3000 rally!

2009 Ford Mustang

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past oh say, 15 years, you’d sure to realize the Ford Mustang aftermarket is something that continues to sizzle on far beyond the dreams Carroll Shelby and Lee Iacocca ever imagined back in the 1960s.  The staggering number of late-model Mustang spin-offs is something that could be seen as awesome, inspiring, or even sometimes comical.  It’s quite daunting just how many flavors of the Ford Mustang there are.  What’s more, we’ve done our best to draft up a list for you to digest, observe, and most importantly–help continue to add to it where we’ve left out!

Ready for this bitter pill?  You better be, because we’re going to take a look at the comments to see if there are any we’ve missed (to date) and then also recruit you to help build the SN95, Fox, Mustang II, and Classic special edition lists.  We’ve got the page breaks ready, so let’s hear it!

SEMA 2009 – Classic Design Concepts Ford Mustang coupe29 Oct

CDC_2010_Ford_Mustang_coupe

Most of the time, a Ford Mustang fan is inclined to zone in on one particular paradigm: “go” or “show”.  As a result, many modified Mustangs reach a point to where they are so tweaked and/or pampered, they are relegated to weekend warrior cruising or track-only duty.  So where’s the dualism here?  Why can’t a Mustang fan have the cake and eat it too?

This year at SEMA 2009, Classic Design Concepts (CDC) will take the best of both worlds and mold them into one awesomely capable pony car package.  The main premise of this latest CDC project is twofold: create a concept suited for the racing lifestyle enthusiast with simple tools and track day needs contained right inside the car AND keep the car’s performance & suspension upgrades in check to be aggressive, but not overbearing for comfortable everyday driving.

Keep reading to get the list of modifications on this 2010 CDC Mustang coupe and if you’re at SEMA, be sure to stop by the CDC booth to check it out firsthand!

CDC offerings for the 2010 Ford Mustang

The weather is getting nicer and many parades & car shows have already kicked off the cruising season.  It’s a very good thing we can shake off the wintertime cold and warm up, because Classic Design Concepts (CDC) has a couple of hot tricks to show Ford Mustang fans.  One is a stylish new light bar for the 2001 Ford Mustang convertible and the other is a set of quality-crafted hood struts for both the coupe and ‘vert Mustang.  CDC has struck the market quickly in the 2010 Mustang arena, and their long-standing commitment to fitment and finish is evident with these two new products.  Check out more in the Press Release and the larger images we have in store for you.

Ford Mustang 45th Anniversary celebration
2010 Classic Design Concepts front spoiler featured.

After this past whirlwind of a weekend, we have barely had enough time to sit down, reflect, and think about what just happened at the 45th Anniversary Celebration of the Ford Mustang in Birmingham.  Now, on a Monday afternoon, it’s all starting to soak in.  We ran into thousands of Mustang fans, hundreds of vendors, hung out at the CDC booth (assisted in some installations!), caught some sweet racing at Barber, and of course, caught a feast for the eyes (hot cars) as well as the belly (good, down-home cooking).  Most importantly, we were able to share about 95% of the 45th Mustang Anniversary LIVE with you, the Ford Mustang enthusiast community.  Between our twitter coverage and live video, we did our best to make sure fans were able to see what they wanted to, regardless of attending the celebration.
