We know there’s a long line of people who wish they had a 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R by SVT in their garage…and an even longer line of people who pine after one that’s completely without blemish.  How cool would it be to have your very own unmolested Ford Mustang, let alone one from Coletti’s legacy at Ford’s SVT division?  Sound like something you’re interested in?  Well…here’s your chance.  Better hurry and at least browse the auction, as it has just over a week remaining.

Wow!  Just when we thought the 2011 Ford Mustang lineup couldn’t get any better, the Cobra R model looks like it is slated for an official return to the SVT stable.  This leaked press kit photo from what appears to be Venice, California shows what looks to be one of the most unique & incredible 2nd-gen S197 Mustangs we’ve seen to date.  From its audacious rear wing to its venomous front fascia, this Ford Mustang has definitely got the makings for a race-ready track terror.  There is little doubt the  1993, 1995, and 2000 Cobra R models will welcome this latest creation with open arms as one of the few & true Spartan race cars ever produced.  Keep reading for more of a break down and a close-up shot.

Ford has thrown us another basted bone this week with a shot of the 2010 Mustang hood.  The lines and edges hint at the new Mustang having a very recognizable form we have seen before. The 2010 Mustang hood certainly has some distinguished features found in past race-ready Ford Mustangs.  Back in 2000, Ford’s SVT division released the Cobra R, and one of the most prominent features on this snake was its power dome hood.  The 2010 Mustang hood seems to have inherited some of these hot features from the 2000 Cobra R.  The hood, back in 2000, was taller than the normal Cobra hood and had gills that improved heat dissipation. This week’s power dome shot is a very cool teaser image that Ford has baited us with.  Tying in popular traits from the SN95 era and its glory is a very cool move!
