2015 Ford Mustang order guide released

So that happened.  The 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang came, went, and we are now moving into another generation of pony car.  It all seems a bit too surreal…and happened quite rapidly, given all the build-up.  With offerings like the Ford-installed-but-not-warranted line lock, hot color choices, SVT branding, and some serious performance options, the 2015 Mustang is seriously making waves in only a short time of awareness in the (now global) marketplace.

When it’s finally put to press, given this document was a “leak”, we can expect to see some new platform Mustangs hued in: competition orange, avalanche gray, triple yellow, deep-impact blue, magnetic metallic, race red, black and oxford white.  Additionally, Wimbledon white will also make the cut, paying proper homage to the first color of the 1964 Mustang.  Very well-played, Ford.

There are a whole host of performance and appearance upgrades–more than are worth spewing about right here, only to leave each of you skipping ahead and reading the guide for yourselves.  Now with that being said, here ya go; here is the reportedly valid and accurate 2015 Mustang order guide for your drooling and reading pleasure.

Follow the jump for some real speed car color examples of the new 2015.

Line Lock is stock on the 2015 Ford Mustang

What’s better than a 2015 Ford Mustang?  What’s better than a smoky burnout?  How about BOTH?  With 50 years behind it, an avid fan base excited to get more for their money, and Ford listening to what its customers want, we are totally set with this one, folks.

Every 1320ft racer knows the tires have to be on the sticky side to tear off from the tree and make any sort of respectable run down the track.  The process, of course, is a calculated tire burnout based upon a plethora of circumstantial factors required by the car, track, weather, and…..the list goes on.  Well now, there’s one less thing to have to think about AND to have to think about installing from an aftermarket source: a line lock.

That’s right–Ford is offering up the chance for saving some rear brake pads and simultaneously shredding the rear tires on the 2015 Mustang GT…as a standard offering.  The comical part in all of this?  Ford offers the line lock feature from the factory, states that the feature should only be used when racing in sanctioned areas, then closes with saying any racing of the car automatically voids the warranty.  Wait, what?  Bean counters and lawyers got the last words on this news, it seems, hah!

Keep tracking to see this in action and to read the official Ford Press Release.

Question: Where does the 2015 Ford Mustang park?

Answer:  Pretty much wherever it wants.

And in this case, on its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang (once again) finds a cozy spot at the top of the Empire State building in New York City.  Why?  Because it can.  Why not?  No reason.  Ford is pulling out all the stops for this celebration, and there should be no question as to why it’s all going down.  From celebrations on BOTH American coastlines, to global social campaigns, every single fan…and maybe some new ones…will know that 50 years of an icon is simply awesome.  Especially when it marks the fact that pride and joy endure the test of hardship over time.

The Ford Mustang made it throughout 50 years.  Here’s to many more to come!

50th Anniversary Special Edition Ford Mustang is here

Ready.  Set.  Now!  That’s it.  We are finally here, everyone.  Ford’s on the brink of showing us just how big their plans are for the Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary, and everyone will be at the edge of their seats.  Their first token of celebration–a throwback pony car, paying proper homage to the original 1964 Mustang which put all of this pomp & circumstance into position, for 50 years, and more to come.

This special edition 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback will be colored in one of two choices:  Wimbledon White or Kona Blue.  In addition to legacy hues of honor, the special edition 50th Anniversary Mustang will come standard with nearly every potential option in the books, and the only question remaining for a buy will be “automatic or manual?”.  Not bad.

This is but the beginning of an avalanche in the news bit onslaught to come this week out of the Ford Motor Company camp, so with that, we turn it over to the official Ford Press Release, so you get the story straight from the source…

VIN #0001 1969 Shelby GT 350 poised to bring half a Million $

Auctions and sales of the Ford Mustang have continued to captivate the best of us, and this time, we’ve found one of the craziest ones we’ve seen in a long time. VIN #1 of the renowned 1969 Shelby GT350 Mustang variety is up for sale for $495,000 USD. That’s just plain silly, if you ask us. Half a million dollars for a Ford Mustang? C’mon, even we aren’t that crazy. This kind of money puts a potential sucker buyer into some amazing supercar territory for purchase.  So if one’s truly interested in turning heads, then there might be some other avenues of pursuit…

With just over 51K miles on the clock, this car is in rather good shape for consideration, actually.  The interesting part which took us for a few seconds–it’s a right-hand-drive, Australian car.  Crazy to think the first 1969 production Shelby Mustang was destined for the land down under.  The car carries the Vin# of 9F03M480001, proving it is not something to joke about.

What’ll be most interesting will be to see if this one actually goes for what ‘s being asked.  So far, no one’s made a solid bite–yet.  We poked around the shop on this one a little bit, and we think we’ll see this one on the Barrett-Jackson block before too long.  Until then…

2015 Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition parading the streets

We’re finally on the homestretch for seeing the unveiling of the 2015 Ford Mustang, and what do we have here?  Some snappy shot(s) of the 2015 Mustang taking a relaxing stroll about the streets of motown.  Well, it’s not just the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang, but this photo captures the reported 50th Anniversary Edition of the half-century-old pony car.  This prototype looks to promise a new grille with its infamous pony emblem, some Brembos underneath some split-spoke rims, and Pirelli rubber for the shoes.

We’re not able to assume too much more than what we can speculate upon, but we all know the 5.0-liter V8 power plant will be underhood to scream out some birthday burnouts, for sure!  Want to see more?  Then stay tuned–we expect to see this variety debuted in official capacity at the 2014 New York International Auto Show in just under two weeks (4/16/2014).

2015 Ford Mustang convertible video tour

It was just over a month ago when we first saw a solid cut of the 2015 Mustang convertible, and now, we get to take a video tour of all of the design features the fine folks at Ford have wrapped up into this one.  Oh, and in case you didn’t know–it’s April this week.  We’re getting closer to # 50, everyone!

With statistical measures placing the convertible at about 20% of units sold for the Ford Mustang, the design team has placed a lot of effort and time into this edition of the Mustang convertible.  From stuffing the trunk with bodies golf bags, to reducing the amount of latch “work” to get the top down, this 50th Anniversary Mustang rag-top is going to be one which sets the tone for many cruises & parades to come in the near future.
