Paul Brown takes the #50 BOSS 302S Ford Mustang to the top30 Sep

All summer long, we kept Ford Mustang fans posted on the hot racing action Paul Brown has put down in the #50 2012 Mustang BOSS 302S racer and now, he’s got even more to be proud of.  Brown recently placed first in the 2011 Pirelli World Challenge Race, solidifying the GTS Championship title.  Just one more race remains in the 2011 season, but Brown has already matched honors with the legendary BOSS 302 racer, Parnelli Jones–if he gets one more “W” in his final race at Road Atlanta, he’ll get to scribe his name in the books of Ford Mustang racing legends.

Awesome. We saw Tiger Racing’s Mustang in action back in June at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit and seriously, it put a good hurting on the track.  Brown’s got some good mojo going behind the wheel of this 2012 BOSS 302S and we wish nothing but the best for him & Tiger Racing.

Paul Brown sets the bar in his Ford Mustang racer26 Aug

After witnessing a decisive display of Ford Mustang racing at Hallett Motor Racing in Tulsa at the 2011 Mid America Shelby meet, we knew Paul Brown and the Tiger Racing team had a sweet racing setup on their hands.  Now, after in impressive weekend double header capture at Mid-Ohio, Brown has continued to extend his lead in the Word Challenge GTS Championship.

After the Sunday afternoon race, Brown was both stoked and stamped-out with fatigue, placing the ace as a true “rough & tumble” event after a long summertime break.

Miller Motorsports Park now hosts Boss Track Attack13 Aug

As if owning a 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 wasn’t wickedly illustrious enough, Team Mustang and Ford Racing have sweetened the deal for each & every Boss 302 owner a chance to take on the “track attack” opportunity.  This event is a complimentary offering which also involves direct driving instruction from the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

Seriously, how much cooler can the Boss 302 reincarnation get?  Well-over 400hp, a Jekyll & Hyde persona via the track key, and now, Ford’s official blessing to thrash the track at Miller with the guidance of racing gurus just make it even more awesome.

With the heat (wave) of summer in full swing for Ford Mustang fans nationwide, we all know it means getting together for cruise-ins, track events, and most notably–massive Mustang meets.  Unless you have been under a proverbial rock for the past decade, then you’re well aware that Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach, SC is one of the most popular gatherings for Mustang maniacs from all nooks of the country.

This year, the StangNet crew was able to join in the festivities with our latest project car, Built to Cruise, and enjoy all the camaraderie on the Atlantic seaboard.  With over 600 Mustangs on-hand and lots of good racing & shining, BTC was a sure-fire hit with late model Mustang and Fox Mustang enthusiasts.

After a decent bout of showing off all the rides in the show, a series of racing events kicked off and all willing Mustang riders were able to put their money pits on the pavement to show just what the driver mod could do.   The results?  Aside from some serious fun for the whole family, you’ll have to keep reading to get the scoop from the Press Release inside.

Boss 302 crate motors now available from Ford Racing06 May

Earlier this week, Ford Racing put the rumor to rest that new Boss 302 5.0-liter V8 crate motors would be available outside of the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang shell.  The Ford Racing catalog features the 5.0 crate engine under part #M-6007-M50B and will come fully capable of the same neck-jerk power we’ve all been drooling over…a wonderful 444 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of tire smokin’ goodness.  So what’s the wallet damage for this pony car power plant?  The Boss 302 crate motor will hold a sticker of $11,999…equaling a $5K bump in price over the Mustang GT crate motor’s price tag of $6,999.  That doesn’t seem all to bad at first blush, but when reflection shines back, you realize it’s a steep bill for a mere 32 horsepower more.  Guess the branding is the bulk of the cost…

Nonetheless, keep reading to see all the nitty gritty details on the Ford Racing aluminum 5.0-liter Mustang Boss 302 crate engine.

2012 Ford Mustang Boss prints available from Ford Images18 Apr

So, let’s get this straight; not only do owners of the new 2012 Mustang Boss 302 get to enjoy their nameplate Ford Mustang specimens whenever they want, they also get the chance to bask in their cars’ beauty whenever they want by placement of official prints of their very own.  Right.  Ford Images is providing owners with the chance, and proof of order of course, to have a shot of their actual vehicle, framed, mounted, spec’d, and VIN-customized for all to see… even on those rainy or snowy (gasp) days.  What’s even cooler is the fact the prints released are all autographed by racing legend Parnelli Jones, the winner of the1970 SCCA Trans-Am Series championship while piloting none other than…you guessed it–a Mustang Boss 302.

Even better, everyone gets to benefit in all purchases made related to Ford Images and prints for the near term.  More details exist within the official Press Release from Ford, so keep reading up!

Supercharged Ford Mustang sets half mile speed record26 Mar

What happens when you mix a NASCAR driver, Bristol Motor Speedway, a Ford Racing 2011 Mustang GT, and pit them against the toughest competitor out there…the clock?  An awesome display of skill & horsepower, that’s in the least!  David Ragan put down the net to his Ford Fusion and took the reins of a tweaked-out 2011 Mustang GT in an attempt to post up a serious half-mile time.  How did he fair?  He posted a new production car speed & time record of 98.497 miles per hour in just 19.481 seconds.  Pretty awesome feat!

So while that doesn’t sound all too impressive to those of us used to 1320 times, well, put it like this: the best of super bikes was only able to eek out a time just a tenth slower & a mph slower, also.  That’s nuts; a Mustang beating a bike around the track in a 1/2-mile sprint!

Ready to see the record-setting footage?  Keep going!
