We have always kept our stable full of Mustangs here at StangNet, and quite often, we arrive at one that is a total hit. The latest completed project Ford Mustang, Built to Cruise, has just upped its street cred with a feature in the June 2013 of 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords. So now you can say you saw the best Fox Coyote swap Mustang before it hit print, right here on our site, as we put it all together.
As for the feature in the magazine, we won’t spoil it, but you can grab your own copy and pilfer the pages for a fantastic photo shoot of BTC and of course, plenty of back-story and tech about the car, in case you might have missed it beforehand. Every Fox Body Ford Mustang owner has had the tough call of selecting just the perfect wheel to accompany their restoration or customization of their pony car. As the aftermarket for the Mustang continues to mature and pump out serious quality options, enthusiasts are commonly finding Official products endorsed by Ford. Latemodel Restoration now offers up one of the most sought after rollers–the Mustang Pony Wheels.
These wheels are suited for fitment to the 1979 through the 1993 Fox Body Mustang (4-lug) and a 16×7″ size, come as a set of 4 (with or without 225/55/16 rubber), and have an officially licensed Ford Mustang center cap with the correct running pony emblem over the tri bar logo. The Pony wheels are available in silver as well as chrome, and if you elect to get tires along with them, the mounting & balancing are free of charge and an there’s an optional Nitrogen fill-up, also.
Head over to Latemodel Restoration to get a closer look and maybe even pick up a set of these wheels of your own!
All throughout the build-up of our latest Ford Mustang project car, Built to Cruise, we hit certain challenges and bumps in the road that required a healthy portion of blood, sweat, and tears…and ultimately, ground-breaking ingenuity. One of the key highlights people really liked and latched during the build-up, was the StangNet-designed pedal relocation bracket for the 2011 Coyote 5.0-liter V8 swap into any late-model Fox platform Mustang. This Coyote 5.0-liter pedal relocation bracket was spec’d out via our own CAD schemes, passed along to prototype stage, and is now being produced by one of our long-term suspension suppliers, J&M Products. This pedal bracket can be used in any Ford Mustang from 1979 up through 2004, in addition to any other application with a vertical firewall.

OK, everyone. Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past three decades, you know full-well the Ford Mustang has always been a treat to turn through the corners on the track or spin down the drag strip. Furthermore, one of the best ways to maximize the experience is via modification to any Mustang suspension setup from stock to “not so”. Kenny Brown Performance isn’t a stranger to the notion of refining chassis and suspension balance & performance to get the best out of every Ford Mustang from the advent of the Fox in 1979, all the way up to the upcoming 2013 Mustang. The latest 2012 Mustang catalog from Kenny Brown features a complete lineup of parts which also touch back to any of the SVT Cobra models spread about from 1979 up through 2004. It doesn’t stop there, however–even Shelby GT500 owners will have something to flip pages over and slap on their snakes with the offerings found within the catalog.

Every Ford Mustang fan loves to gawk at pony car eye candy and read up on the latest projects, aftermarket goodies, and tech filled write-ups…it’s a given. Now, there’s another slick media channel for keeping up with exclusive Fox body Ford Mustang intel. Fox Mustang Magazine has a 100-page per issue Fox body magazine ready to go, full of not-your-regular-Mustang-chatter and promises a “very nice, deluxe magazine like you’d take home to Momma”. The modus operandi here for these guys is to produce a periodical that isn’t for the 1500hp twin turbo trailer queen Fox body, necessarily. It’s for the everyday Ford Mustang fan in love with the Fox platform, seeking to tweak, tune, and simply be down to earth in concept.
Head over to the Fox Mustang Magazine site (link above) to check out their online tour & sneak peek. We’re pretty excited about this, so keep your eyes open for this one, folks!
A company known as Marti Auto Works is on the scene to let it be known they now offer expanded Marti Reports for owners of 1980 – 1986 Ford vehicles…which of course, includes the omnipresent Fox-body Ford Mustang. These new reports offer up loads of details on every Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicle produced during the said time frame, giving owners a true sense of historical detail about their car. Bummed about not seeing model years post-1986? Not to worry; later this year Marti will be releasing detailed reporting for vehicles up to 1993, covering all Fox-body Mustangs.
These Marti reports are complete living documents, containing a plethora of intel, including door data plate information, optional equipment, important order and build dates, what dealer originally delivered the vehicle and on the exact date the vehicle was sold.
Keep your eye out for these reports–they are very informational & useful!
If you have been wondering just how in the heck we managed to get a 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 into a Fox body Mustang with great form sans hacks, well, we’re here to tell about one great feat by a featured aftermarket player which helped make it happen. BBK worked very closely with us to get the form, fitment, and function absolutely perfect. If you haven’t already checked out the video we posted over the weekend, then you’re missing out! It was the first crank-up of Built to Cruise, EVER! We were completely stoked to see all the hard work by all come into play.
The end game of this note to everyone is to let it be known that StangNet and BBK have worked with great concern for detail on making this swap something that can be done in the future by anyone, anytime, with the will to make it happen. We’ve taking on the burden of growing pains & lots of documentation so the entire aftermarket doesn’t have to!

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a sharp, quality aftermarket product come out for the Fox-body Ford Mustang, so we’re up in front to tell you about the latest from Mustang Racing Technologies (MRT). These Fox Mustang hood struts are designed to nip the need for the lame OEM prop rod and serve up a clean, crisp underhood look. What’s more, these are the first hood struts aimed at the 1979 – 1993 Mustang! Pretty awesome, also, is the fact these parts are designed & fabricated right here in the US of A.
