Each year, a collection of street-proven Ford Mustang specimens convene in Bowling Green, KY to sort out just who will win the title “King of the Street”. With several 8-second Mustangs on-hand and 7,000 horsepower rumbling about, these competitions are always a spectacle not to be missed. AmericanMuscle teamed up with 5.0 Mustang editors Steve Turner, Mike Johnson, and KJ Jones in order to select & settle on a winner. Judgment was based upon six categories: Ride & Drive, Horsepower, Fit & Finish, Engineering, Drag Race, and Popular Vote. So, how did the competition go? Who won? It’s no secret that most Ford Mustang V6 owners find the single-pipe exhaust outlet the bane of driving the entry level pony car. After all, what bigger sign does one need to say “I didn’t get the GT because…”? Regardless of the reason, the Mustang V6 is the staple of sales and rental fleets across the nation. So what do can we do with something so popular and widespread? Make it look and sound a notch above the masses, that’s what. NewTakeOff is in the game of tweaking the Ford Mustang and flooding the aftermarket with loads of applications-of-cool. This video (after the jump) gives you a great perspective for how a dual exhaust installation on the Mustang V6 is completed. Take a good gander–we think this would be a fantastic way to spice up the latest 300hp V6 powered Mustang!

What better way to recognize a worthy collective than to give back when they spend a lot of their time and resources providing valuable support. That’s precisely what Brothers Performance will be doing with the launch of their “Saturday Show Up and Show Off / Dyno Club Day” events at both their Temecula, CA and DeLand, FL facilities. Performance enthusiasts of the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, SVT Lightning, and many other performance machines are welcome to join up with their clubs to fall in the ranks of filling up a Saturday packed with free dyno runs, discounts, and a club packet (including a hat or a t-shirt).
Hopefully you didn’t miss it live on your own home theater, but just in case, we’re here to bring the latest 20110 Ford Mustang commercial right back at ya to be played time and time again. This slick TV spot has got something for everyone: the power hungry, the legendary 5.0 fan, the tech savvy, and most importantly–the Ford fan in all of us. Take a good, close look at this video clip, as it’s a great product exhibiting one of the best (if not the best) Ford Mustangs to date. We could have done without the music and had more of the 5.0’s 7,000 rpm roar, quite frankly. Until we get some good seat time, however, this will have to do. Check out the video after the jump…
The official Ford Mustang YouTube channel has unleashed two nice 2011 Ford Mustang videos to perhaps tease out promotional ideas to come for TV advertising. The first video exhibits the new 2011 5.0 Mustang GT and the latter shows off the screaming V6 Mustang. Like most anything we’ve seen come out of the Ford shop recently, these two spots are well put together and also exhibit some detailed internal Ti-VCT engine action. Hit the jump to check them out!
What do you get when you start with a base Ford Mustang coupe in stock form and turn it over to AmericanMuscle (AM) & Swarr Auto? You end up with a 2005 V6 Mustang that gets tweaked beyond imagination in order to see just how many horses the little sixer-equipped pony car can pump out. The guys over at AM have compiled a series of videos to capture just what they’ve done in order to see where they start, what makes the biggest impact, and where they end up with this aftermarket project. The first video in the series features Dave Kaeck (from AM) kicking things off at Swarr Auto with a baseline dyno run to get the raw numbers, plus a first look at the huge variety of parts being installed on the ’05 Legend Lime V6.

What happens when spirited rivals are finally pitted to race against each other? What happens when there’s sanctioned speed with the cameras rolling? A damn good time, that’s what. On April 5th, 2010, SPEED TV will show the full episode of the Forum Wars TV spot featuring StangNet.com against My350Z.com. Rob Krider takes the wheel of a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT outfitted with Hoosier Tires, Carbotech Brake pads, and I/O Port Racing Supplies harnesses. Rob’s been a Ford Mustang lover for some time, with his collection ranging from a 1992 Mustang 5.0 LX notch police interceptor to a 2001 Mustang Bullitt in which he autocrossed & drifted at various SCCA events. Over the years, he’s always counted on the StangNet site and community for a lot of his setup & technical advice on all of his Ford Mustangs.
Stay tuned to SPEED to see who comes out on top! Until April 5th arrives, we’ll have to get by on the teaser video after the jump…
