So just what car do you drop $25 to $35K upon when you are looking for the most bang for the buck?  Well, not surprisingly these days, the choices of efficient and powerful street cars isn’t always an easy one.  That being said, however, the choice to pick up either the Ford Mustang coupe or a new, powerful Ford Mustang GT…isn’t a hard call, considering the competition.

We knew the feat would repeat.  Ford continues to stay ahead of the curve & calendar, keeping the Ford Mustang enthusiast community full of tidbits to chew upon.  On the eve of 2011, Ford has officially taken the wraps off the 2012 Mustang pricing spectrum, letting the world know they mean business with the next wave of Mustangs–from the 300hp Mustang V6 to the supercharged 5.4-liter Shelby GT500.  Last month, we saw the order guides and the candy shop collection of options, packages, and add-ons for the 2012 Mustang–here, we’re back with solid, publicized pricing straight from FoMoCo.

So, what’s the verdict?  How much more are we going to have to shell out to play with a new 5.0-powered Mustang GT?  Anywhere between $200 and $700 more, depending on hardtop or rag top.  Hey, ya gotta pay to play, right?

With recent announcements of 2012 specifications, offerings, and a two-key engine control system, the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 is no stranger to Ford Mustang fans worldwide.  One key stat recently surfaced…what we’d all be focused upon during the litmus test of ownership.  The new Boss Mustang is set to carry an MSRP of $40,995 (destination & delivery inclusive).  Most of the Mustang enthusiast discussion has poured over this topic, centering on the fact Ford would keep the package at or around the $40K mark…and they were right.

A few key options can be added to the Boss 302 in order to make that number quickly jump over the $41K mark, however.  The Recaro seating and torsen differential option package will run an additional $1,995.  Go for the Boss 302 Accessory Package (car cover and floor mats) and the price tag creeps up by $475.  Opt for the Yellow Blaze Tricoat Metallic paint and expect to see another $495 on the pricing sheet.  Lastly, the Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca package will have an MSRP of $47,990 which includes destination and delivery.

We’ve got to keep the 2011 model year excitement up, everyone; the new Mustang will be on the streets before you know it!  The folks at FoMoCo are doing a great job keeping the ball rolling with their recent unwrapping of the 2011 Ford Mustang configurator tool.  This website is designed to handle mock builds and customizations in order to give 2011 Mustang buyers a sense of just how expensive their tastes can be.  Most importantly, each and every option is listed out in fine detail with the associated costs, so there’s no surprises when you take your “build sheet” to your local Ford dealer for ordering.

So have at it, everyone.  Start with either the base model coupe or ‘vert and then pile on the options…just make sure you don’t overextend yourselves; StangNet isn’t going to be there to provide you with any economic stimulus or a bailout!

2011 Ford Mustang GT

That’s right, folks.  The pricing for the new 2011 Ford Mustang V6 and GT models has been released leaked for all to see.  It looks like we’ll take a bite off the golden goose once again, but boy, would it be worth it to have a 400+ horsepower 5.0 in the stable!  The basic 2011 Mustang coupe is slated to have a suggested retail price of $22,995 (destination and delivery inclusive) while the upgrade to the GT trimmings will move the sticker to a starting point of $30,495.  Sounds like a hefty jump when compared to the ’89 GT 5.0 once-owned, which had a window sticker displaying a “lofty” (at those times) $14,000.  Times have certainly changed…

Oh, to be so lucky for us to see the 2010 Mustang prices equal to some of the recent 2008 and 2009 Ford Mustang amounts! Some dealerships have been cutting the pony car stickers down underneath the $19,000 mark for the remaining Mustangs on the eve of the 2010 coming next Spring. Some of the craftier crew over at Motor Trend were able to get their hands on the official price list for each model & trim of the 2010 Mustang, including the respective options. It looks like the vanilla V6 coupe starts just under $21K + $850 destination & delivery. Jumping up to the top of the rung, we see that the GT Convertible, trimmed in the Premium decor, starts at $35,995 plus D&D.
