Saw a 99 Black Cobra on the Interstate yesterday.

The wife and I were cruising down the interstate yesterday on the way to UPS and a 99 Cobra Black in color passed us, still a dealers plate on there. (Lucky Guy) I told my wife I plan to get a 2000 Stang late this year or early next. The car looked great in black. What color would you want? Which color looks best on the new Mustangs?

If any one has a mustang that has the opt mystic paint I would like to know. My dad has one and I found another one on the internet. The opt mystic paint is the paint that has 10 different shades of color in the paint.
A friend of mine that works at a Ford dealership said that they are going to come back with this kind of paint next year on some 2004 mustangs. |

I got a '87 Chevy S10 Long bed Regular cab with a '68 Corvette 350 bored .050 with procomp racing pistons, Holley performance racing cam, Edelbrock crank, Edelbrock performer RPM intake, Holley 600CFM Carb, Mallory racing distributor, Mallory High performance coil, Headman {S10 V-8 Conversion headers}, Flowmaster Exaust, and a Turbo 400 Transmission. Also a posi tracktion 9-inch ford rearend. I'm runnin 18 inch wide Road max tires. And this is what i drive back and forth to school in. It gets about 9mpg. Not Bad? You gotta keep in mind i'm only 16. But my dad says his S-10 will out run mine. We're not done with it yet, still gotta hang battery boxes. I ask him how is yours gonna out run mine when i gotta 350 and you got a 327. He answers, Experience.

Just wanted to say that I own a 91' mustang gt with a brand new 302 engine, and some mods on it. I have nothing against camaro's or firepigeons. In fact they are all excellent cars. Im in the military stationed in Germany and will be the first to confess that I have never in my life seen so many american muscle car fanatics fome together for a common cause. which is stompin on some imports and rice burners. German's love to show off their VW GTI's and OPEL Calibra's and 3 series BMWs. But they hate it when an american V-8 pulls up next to them. Us american muscle car patriots up here are rare and few between up here in Europe where most of these people have never seen cars like ours before. But you can be damn sure we represent the strength and power of the American Muscle... |

Ive driven both and the short time I drove the mustang it ended up in the shop more than on the road first with a defunked radiator second with a blowed engine becuse ford instaled the intake manifold gasket was put on upside down and backwards third was for there hood separation problem forth was becase of a faulti fan bering in the electric fan. wich cases the moter to over heat. I just bought a camero and ive been plesently suprised with the power it has. we'll see how this turns out for me. just so you all no I like both and we should unite and fite the rice burnin peices of shit that git in the way of a good old fasiond chevy vrs ford drag race. |

In my opinion, there are two main reasons why Mustangs outsell the GM competition.
First, have you ever sat in an F-body? The ride is uncomfortable, the visibility is horrible, and the interior was designed by Mattel. People pay too much for these cars for such poor ergonomic design.
Secondly, most educated and employed individuals (the people who are most likely to purchase a $30,000 vehicle without parental handouts) tend to avoid being associated with the Camaro/Firebird stereotypes (i.e. mullet hairstyle, wife-beater t-shirt, gold chain, etc.).
As far as performance goes, it is hard to compare the Cobra with the SS or WS6 on the street since engine, induction, and exhaust modifications are common. My 98 Cobra has 3.73s, Jacob’s ignition, aluminum driveshaft, Cobra “R”s, H&R sport suspension, Bassani exhaust, HO fuel pump, and a 10psi Vortech S-trim. It’s a bit faster than the aforementioned stock GM cars and a lot more pleasurable to drive on daily commutes. However, please note, as far as pure hp and torque goes, I will not deny that the 5.7 powerplant has more potential with similar add-ons. It’s a fact of physics. “There is no replacement for displacement.” I just wouldn’t want to drive one every day.

That is pretty amazing considering there quater mile times where both within 1/100th of a second with each other. Number two, the mustang has the corvette out numbered in the 'horespower to weight ratio.' Did you happen to look at the lap times for the Cobra and the Vette? The mustang ran the lap a whole two seconds faster! Well an uneducated moron like yourself might say "oh two seconds isn't shit, who cares." That may be true after one lap, but after running 100 laps the mustang will be 3.3 minutes ahead of your Corvette! Do the math....2 seconds per lap x 100 laps = 200 sec. / 60 sec. = 3.333 minutes. Oh and just two more things to add. The Vette makes 67.9 Horses per Liter, while the Mustang makes 71.2 horses per Liter. Number two, the Vette puts down 385 at the flywheel however it only puts 344 Horses to the rear wheel. The Cobra R on the other hand puts 376 of it's 385 horses to the rear wheels. That says right their in itself "better engineering on Fords behalf." To top it all off why would Ford put a radio, back seat, and other creature comforts in a car made and built for one sole reason....to race. Hope you haven't forgot about that 3.3 minutes!

I have a 2000 Mustang GT. I have the Feature Car package with the black racing stripes, bigger hood and side scoops. The car is heavily modified. Hands down, the Mustang is the ultimate sports car. Screw a Camaro, just look at Car&Driver magazine. The 1999 305hp 350ci only beat a 1999 260hp 281ci GT by half a car length. 0-60 were side by side. Compare the engine size. As a longtime mustang lover I must say it is really interesting to hear GM lovers toot their own horns about how great camaros and firebirds are compared to mustangs at a stock level. Well aren't you all just amazing. GM has to use a 350 (5.7?) ram air to gain a very small amount of speed over the ford 4.6L. Thats a full liter plus ram air plus a more uncomfortable ride for a few tenths of a second. It was the same in older years. Put a ford 302 mustang against a 305 camaro and you will see who gets more bang. My 84 camaro kept up with a vette in high school and smoked too many camaros to remember...and still runs hard with over 250,000 miles... bring it on |

Most GM petrol heads down here ( and it seems everyehere else as well) have the same focus on horsepower, horsepower and more horsepower. There's more to the muscle car experience than straightline speed. That's why 100% of the motor reviews down here chose the Ford as the best drive experience. By the way the XR8 beats it's competition off the line anyway but falls away at terminal slightly. 5.0 litre Ford ( 200Kw) vs 5.7 ltr ( 220Kw) GM. Sorry 270 ponies vs 295 ponies respectively.
The new Mustangs will be sold down under next year. We have had previews at recent motor shows. This is a car that demands respect for what is has achieved over it's history. Most of them are presold without even a test drive.
We don't have Camaros down here apart from the odd few imported privately. Probably a good thing in the end.

Yes police forces switched.The police package on the Mustangs were manual equipped. Ford has not offered a police Mustang since 1993.Police want automatics.Crown Vics are the dominant police package. As for the Probe reference that was a mistake, I meant to say Cougar(rear wheel drive back then). I did not say how many car clubs the Camaro has, I said do Camaro owners have that kind of devotion(over 5000 cars in the show).As far as car clubs I doubt the Camaro has more, in my state alone there are 5 Mustang Clubs and only 2 Camaro clubs.(Not every club is listed on the internet). True Ford was going to drop the Mustang, but we told them what to do. How about you Chevy guys allowing the legendary name Impala to go on a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CAR. That was huge mistake on your part.Also when it comes to R/D GM will not spend the money. The reason you have the hump in the floor leading up to the transmission tunnel is that GM would not spend the money to reposition the catalytic converter.(the Auto Scene) That's GM always looking out for the customer.Sure it means nothing if you're short. The current Mustangs are up close enough to leave the win up to the driver. A stick Mustang will beat the(automatic) Camaro. If they both have sticks it will be decided by the better driver. Ford is true to the "DRIVER," the Cobra has never been available with an automatic, while the Camaro SS is available with an automatic. I want you to go to Altavista and do a search on texas cop cars and tell me why the whole state has switched, as are many other department from mustangs to the camaro polic epackage that just came out---you lost every argument here---and do not ask me to get the link for you becaus eon this one I will. another matter at hand is the inch/inch horsepower--like i said peopel whi are behind are always trying to find reasons and explain why they are behind. Inch for inch a wolverine is more fierce than a Grizzly bear, but which one will clean the others clock in a fight. Also, it is true about the yester-year mustangs they ere on par or better than the camaro, but i said in my 1st post "It has been 9 years" since ford has put out mustangs that equal camaros." One more thing--there is a bigger list of camaro clubs than mustangs, and i dare you to ask me for the list on that one as well. One more thing---your mustangs are 2nd rate---Thre bottom line is this---Ford, if we all remember, was about to cut the Mustang. the Probe was supposed to be it's succesor, but they just done what CHEVY will nto do---compromise the way a true musclecar should be and droo the power and everything else down so they could gain in the sales department. i am sure if CHEVY wanted to make that compromise they could, but why. It is better to sell 10,000 or so cars and lay claim to being the reinging pony car champs than to compromise based on sales. If I were chevy, I would drop the Camaro now--go out on top, and that is exactly where we are, and move on to the next generation of cars. That's an old article.Base Mustang has 190hp.Car and driver tested them and they were equal. If you want to go to the archives, check out what the LX Mustangs from 1987-1993 did to the the limited edition 5.7l Camaro, which was only available with an automatic.Why else would so many police forces use the Mustang? The point is GM has three times as many chances to outsell Ford. When Ford produced the Thunderbird, it also had the Probe to contend with. Mustang still out sold the Camaro with 3 competitors in house.Cubic inch for cubic inch Ford outpowers Chevy. Remeber the recall on fullsize GM's that failed emissions when you turned on the A/c?(1996) Bottom line GM cannot continue to meet emissions with the pushrod engine. GM has not sunk any money into the development of DOHC engines.The Northstar engine has not increased in power since it came out. This engine will be in the new Cadilac roadster, and it will be supercharged. This will potentially be in the next Corvette.This of course will trickle down to the Camaro. Bottom line Ford engines are more efficent ie. power per cubic inch, emissions, and fuel savings. As for supercharging a chevy I said you would have to spend more money to equal the performance of the Ford. Ford engine's breathe better than your pushrod. The recall applies to the Cobra, and I have ridden them hard for the problems. Ford did the right thing, and fixed the cars and stopped the production of the 2000 Cobra's. Would GM do that? I know they delayed production of the C5, but would they stop production-I think not.As far as sport utes-Why? I have no desire for one. Of course Ford dominates. Explorer outsells Blazer, Jimmy, and Bravada. 3 times the chances to outsell Ford.(Mercury has version of Explorer). Last year I was a participant at the 35th anniversary of the Mustang. An all Mustang show. Over 5000 cars were on display. Hundreds more in the parking lot. The Chevrolet Camaro, and its cousin, the Pontiac Firebird, just might be the best performance values on the face of the planet. Restyled for 1998, these sleek sportsters come with major mechanical enhancements and offer performance ranging from really good to awesome, at prices that are surprisingly affordable and competitive.
The Camaro and Firebird are as American as it gets: Long and low with a powerful engine mounted in front and rear-wheel drive. Room for rear-seat passengers and cargo capacity are not top priorities. But for style and performance at a great price, the Camaro and Firebird are nearly impossible to beat. We drove the Camaro Z28 Coupe, but what we have to say about the Camaro applies to the Firebird; they are nearly identical.
Walkaround
The Chevrolet is available in two basic levels, Camaro and Camaro Z28. They come in coupe and convertible body styles. (The Pontiac comes as the Firebird, Formula and Trans Am.) Standard equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock, dual airbags, theft-deterrent system, tilt wheel, full instrumentation and air conditioning.
The base engine is a 3.8-liter V6, and we like it a lot. Available with either a four-speed automatic or (our preference) a five-speed manual, it's rated at a robust 200 horsepower and 225 foot-pounds of torque and will rev to 6000 rpm. The 3800 Series II V6, as it's called, is well regarded and offers performance equivalent to many V8s of the not-too-distant past--without the cost, fuel economy penalty or extra insurance premium of a V8. Furthermore, the 3800 V6 is available with an optional performance handling package that includes a limited-slip differential, dual exhaust, P235/55R16 tires on alloy wheels, quicker steering ratio and, if equipped with the automatic transmission, a 3.42:1 axle instead of the standard 3.08:1 ratio. There is also a sport appearance package that includes alloy wheels and special body trim.
Those wanting more performance can opt for the LS1 5.7-liter V8-powered Z28. Modified slightly from the engine developed for the new Corvette, and rated at 305 hp and 335 lb.-ft. of torque, this aluminum powerhouse makes the Camaro a genuine high-performance car (especially if equipped with the six-speed manual transmission), that's capable of well over 150 mph, right off the showroom floor.
Standard with the Z28 are the tires and wheels of the sport appearance package, a performance handling suspension, limited-slip differential and the all-important 155-mph speedometer. If wretched excess is your game, order the Camaro SS with forced air induction and the output soars to 320 hp, accompanied by further suspension upgrades and massive P275/40ZR-17 tires. There isn't another car within $10,000, and doggone few within $20,000, that can stay with it.
The Camaro does an admirable job of keeping all this power hooked up to the pavement. The reason: Its chassis features upper and lower control arms in front, which keep the tires in better contact with the road than the more popular struts. A live axle is used in the rear and it's one of the best live axles because it's well-located by a long torque arm, trailing links and a Panhard rod. Springs are coils, and there are front and rear anti-roll bars. This is one very capable high-performance car. Compared to its most likely and obvious competitor, the Ford Mustang, the Camaro accelerates better, stops better and gets around corners a whole lot better, all due to its superior chassis.
The brakes are big four-wheel discs, with plenty of cooling ability for enhanced fade resistance. ABS is optional. Steering is by power rack-and-pinion.
In our view, the most attractive aspect of the Camaro is the performance for the money. We'll even put in a few words here about the Camaro with the 3.8-liter V6. The Mustang is also offered with a base 3.8-liter V6 engine, but while the Camaro V6 makes 200 hp and revs to 6000 rpm, the Mustang runs out of wind at 150 hp and won't come close to 6000 rpm. So, V8 to V8, or V6 to V6, the Camaro (and the equivalent Firebird), simply runs away from the Mustang.
The Inside Story
Obviously, cars built low and sleek don't offer much excess interior room, and the Camaro is no exception. The Camaro is more difficult to get into and out of than the taller, more upright Mustang. Also, the seating position is low and somewhat reclining, with your legs extending forward. But once you're in, the overall driving position, including control layout and instrumentation, is pretty good and lends itself quite well to the business of enthusiastic driving -- a significant part of the Camaro's appeal.
The tiny rear seats are shaped with deep buckets in the cushions, so the requirements for sitting back there include: Sufficient nimbleness to get in; the ability to sit squarely in the bucket with feet in front and knees up; and basic measurements of less than 5 ft. 10 in. and 160 pounds. If you meet those requirements the back seat is not the torture chamber it might appear to be, but it's still primarily a place for briefcases or small people who won't complain.
Cargo space is also limited. Open the rear hatch and there's a modest bin that fits behind the rear axle, and a higher shelf behind the rear seats. There's plenty of room as long as you don't need to haul more than groceries for two. The rear seats fold forward to accommodate a decent amount of luggage room. But if cargo space is a priority you shouldn't be looking at a Camaro.
Ride and Drive
Even in its base form, the Camaro feels pretty sporty to most drivers. The low driving position and low center of gravity contribute to a hunkered down, responsive feel, no matter how briskly or sedately the car is driven.
The Camaro's mechanical layout, with a front engine driving the rear wheels through a live axle, might seem outdated, but it's quite capable and very successful on the race track. The engine is positioned so that most of it is behind the centerline of the front wheels, thus placing it in the category of front mid-engine design. This distributes the weight more evenly. The result is a car that bends into corners with eagerness and grip and accelerates away from those same corners hard and true. Compared to the Mustang, the Camaro will feel lower, wider, more stuck to the road and more responsive. It's more sophisticated than the Mustang, feels better when driven hard, and works better.
Moving even higher on the performance scale is the Z28 Camaro, a car that offers remarkably good handling, better than many that wear the "sports car" label and cost a good deal more. Driven conservatively the ride is well controlled and smooth enough for "sports car" expectations. Driven with more enthusiasm, the Z28 has exceptional directional stability and good feedback through the wheel. It turns into corners with linear precision. It'll make you look for the long, crooked way home.
We can't emphasize enough the significant role the excellent 5.7-liter LS1 V8 plays in this. Most people have never driven a car that runs this hard. The engine revs and pulls with gusto all the way to redline. The chassis is balanced well and contributes to the commendable driving experience. But as good as the Z28's chassis is, the heart of the car is really that Corvette engine.
Final Word
This kind of car isn't for everyone. Interior room is modest and the swoopy styling, responsive performance and exceptional handling mean the owner must be willing to accept some compromises. But if your willingness to accept those compromises lines up with what the Camaro or the Firebird can deliver, then you could be looking forward to a lot of miles of driving pleasure -- without busting your budget.

TONY, you must be illiterate yourself. i did respond as to how the 3 ford products beat out, in sales only, the 3 gm cars. Ford has only one--thats one---if you can count that high--"performance car" Camaro sales are divided up. The camaro has lost a lot of sales due to the fact the Camaro is not a practical car anymore--not juts based on price but on insurance and day to day driving-----I love Camaros, but i would never buy another one---cars like that do no good when I can spend the same amount of money and buy a truck--As for th SB's----the s class Mercedes has more SB's than the 1999-2000 mustangs--you are surely not going to state that your "STANGS" are better cars are you---recalls is where it is at
and Ford haas more of them. TONY---your brothers car is wimpy and you both had to supercharge or drop new engines or modify them to get them to perform--If you do the same things to a Camaro, you would have a REAl monster------350 to 400 HP of Ford eating, tire gnawing power---your products are inferior--that is why you have to talk about sb's--liek it really matters and modifications---we do it with stock baby----truth hurts---yeah, i guess the truth does hurt, but studies have shown that drivers of Mustangs are older and more financually--as far as demographics go--better off than Camaro owners, so possibly you can get a goos shrink this time so someone will get you to stop hallucinating |

I have video from MIS of how I menaced a car with 115hp more than my car. It also shows me pulling away from lt1 camaro's. Bottom line chevy drivers are ingnorant, incompetent, and just plain lacking in skills. I said to read before responding. Obviously you did not. You have no idea of what the competion has, 4cylinder, 6 cylinder etc. How come you did not respond to the 64 service bulletins on the 1999 camaro's-truth really hurt that time didn't it? You say you will not respond, because you have no truth to back up your statements. You should look in a dictionary to learn how to spell. It's horsepower not hoursepower-dumb***. Get a clue! I along with my brother will be consistently and reliably be destroying every chevy product on the road(track) this summer.He has a 1996 supercharged Cobra, while I will have a twin turbo 351 in my car(done in June). the reason that the mustang, as is known even by people that sell mustangs, outsells the camaro has nothing to do with quality. 1--the mustang is cheaper to insure because it is not on the insurance industry hot list--check with allstate prudebtila whoever--this list is reserved for those "performance" cars deemed to be premium--check it out before responding-well the cobra is but the others are not--2nd-camaro sales dropped dramatically even when the car got better it is not quality that is the issue here--the fact is ford has one production performance car to buy whereas gm has plenty--this is why the camaro seems to be the lesser car in terms of sales, but it is by no means the lesser car. To the dork who thinks his gt or cobra actually took a corvette or a camaro--well not one made in the 90's dorkknocker----mustangs are inferior products--not just because of their hoursepower but they just lack the performance overall--breaking--skidpad---bottom and top end acceleration--everything---ford tries to justify their inferior products by screaming about quality they think they have--see: found on road dead and fix or repair daily the 2 most common acronyms for ford prodcuts and sales--fact is, for less money, my 1993 z28 can beat any regular rpoduction model that ford has put out in the 1990's and this year. these are the automotive facts and i feel sorry for those that do not see them. And i have not seen the shop one time, other than scraping that dead pony off of my grill. i will not post to this sight anymore. i am going to where i belong to play with the big boys. joe p I am reading the April 10. 2000 edition of Automotive News.Mustang sales(actual sales, not production figures) for the first 3 months of 2000 is 40,992(down from year prior 41,461).During that same period Camaro sold 10,229, the corvette 8,068, and the firebird 8,011 for a grand total of 26,308(same period year prior was 24,600). How can you explain that? If they are stealing sales from each division, where did they go? The camaro sold a whopping 986 cars more this period than the same period last year. Of course the corvette sold 634 more units this year, while the firechicken sold 88 more cars this time. Face it people want quality, performance can easily be upgraded but quality cannot. Superchargers work much better on these OHC vehicles than ones with pushrods. You need to run more boost to keep up.You should know this-oh that's right chevy dropped the zr1 years ago. Hey maybe GM will learn something about engines now that they are working with Honda. Before you respond read a book, magazine, anything. Your automotive knowledge is pathetic. |

If you want to talk recalls/service bulletins the 1999 Mustang has had 15s/b (6cylinder) 12 s/b (cobra) 15 s/b (GT). The 1999 Camaro has had 32 s/b on both the 3.8l(64 total) and 5.7l engine(different problems on each car). The 1999 Corvette has 37 s/b(s/b=service bulletin Dumbass) That is quality! Way to go GM.That is why you are losing market share. You are completely misinformed. The last time there was a 4 cylinder Mustang was 1993.When I am at a light the last thing I am worried about is a Chevy product. They are driven by incompetent people. I went to driving school at MIS with my bone stock 94 GT and was bumper to bumper with a Gran Sport Corvette (330 hp) My little old 5.0 (manual tranny) and stock tires hung with a "SUPERIOR"(in your dreams) car. No one could believe it. The 5.7l Camaro's could not hang with me. The Corvette driver checked to see if my car was stock.The typical Chevy driver-big mouth-no skills.More interested in saying how much power it has, but lacks the ability to exploit it. Fact is jack. it had been 9 years since ford produced a mustang that competes with a camaro--the cobra R--like the lt4's of the world really are great but they do not count as they are limited production, not really realistic cars--for the mass produced cars camaros top mustangs hands down, and there have been--count em now 5 callbacks on mustangs since 1998---NONE on camaros----onemore thing--the reason mustangs outsell camaros are numerous so here are some facts:
the mustang is all ford has in terms of a "performance" car--the camaro has to deal with the corvette--firebird--other gm products, 37 percent of the mustangs being bought are 6 or the 4 cylindar, chevy only produces a 6--oh and the camaro will be around to kick you ARSES for alot longer--read it and weap--and if you want to talk about production here and there and quality--remember this--when you are at a red light and a camaro pulls up next to you, the nly thing you think about is not racing it because it will only tag another "L" for loser under your belt--eat it and weep boys. |

BTW, Macguire's is the ONLY thing to maintain the interior and exterior of a Stang!

Ford cancelled the Cobra for model year 2000.(Blue Oval news). Also the Camaro/Firechicken will be around(again Blue Oval News). The Camaro may have more power but they fall apart or squeak and rattle all the to the track. The LT4 Camaro cost $40,000 and are rarer than any Cobra R. The 2000 Cobra cost $15,000 more($55,000 total)than the LT4 Camaro, do the math moron-what do you expect from a Chevy guy.By the way the 2000 R has IRS, fuel cell, trick exhaust and pulls 1.02g's on the pad, not even a Viper can pull that, let alone any piece of**** Chevy. |

What our Camaro lover fails to point out is that it takes 350 Cubic inches to produce 350 HP. BFD!! We are getting 300 plus from only 281 CI's. Equate that up to 350 CI and you get close to 400 HP.

Another comment is why do Camaro guys come to a Mustang website and brag about how much horsepower the car will have in 2005? If you say that "it's official" why not put a link in there so the rest of us can go and read it for ourselves. I'll stick with a car that I know will be around in 2005! And you are right, Ford must be doing something right because the Mustang out sells both the Camaro and Firebird combined. Although that might be due to the fact that the Mustang spends more time on the road than in the shop, unlike the Camaro. |

It's official--at least 10 more years of Camaro. The 35 anniversary in 2002 will be the best ever--special options year for all camaros---345 horsepower standard for z28 and up for that year and then full production of full 350 horsies for 2002 until at least 2005---oh by the way, I saw the 99 black mustang also and I pulled up to it in my 1993 z28 and wondered what all the hoopla was about. A 1999 or a 2000 cobra can not even touch a 1993 z28--let alone a later model or an "SS"---oh and the 1997 aniversary lt4 ss will cream a 2000 cobra r for $25,000 less and it has a radio--air conditioning and a back seat---Keep up the good work Ford! |

I just bought a 2000 mustang GT in Performance Red, and it is a real
head turner. The performance red is with out a doubt your best choice.
Black and laser red are nice colors, but nothing will attact more attention
then a 260 HP bright red mustang GT (got to love the new factory
exhaust, it is about time the mustang came with a rouble from the factory).
The only time it comes close to looking orange, unless you are color blind,
is under a sulfur street light, but this happens to any car that has red paint.
No matter what color you choose, the new mustangs are definetly worth
their price tag.

metallic blue is a pretty color on the 99-00, but silver is also a great color. usually i would try to go w/ a color that is different.
i am proud to say that i am a owner of three mustangs red 5.0(87),red t-top lx(88),metallic blue lx(99). |

really i like black w/ two white racing stripes down the middle, it different and no one really have there that way. its always best to go different when it comes to mustangs, plus if its different you will stand out! |

Black - Definitly Black, I have two. One GT for me and a V6 for my wife. Both Black!!!!!!!! Of course there hard to keep clean, but when there just waxed - WOW what attention getters. |

Well, I'd go for the Presidential Blue Metallic of 1968. Dark... almost black at night. Under the sun you can see a lot of shades of blue because of the alluminium. Check it! Got my '68 hardtop in that blue (check it in The Stable, look for Ricardo on Classic). It must look great on a 2000 !!! |

only released one year, 1993! My own car is Metallic Grey and I

My preference is either Black or Silver but I did a complete 180 when I purchased my 2000 GT. It's in Sunburst Gold, the color that replaced Chrome Yellow. I love the color and it's an attention getter. As if the Mustang itself doesn't attract attention already. :-) |

I just bought a black 99 Cobra. I don't care for black to much, but once you get sucked back in the seat you don't care what color it is. I think I can learn to like this car. |

I'm a FOX body fan and I have to say that my favorite color was a very rare color called coral blue I'm not positive on the name. It was a real dark greeny blue color. "Very nice!" |

i have me an atlantic blue 2000 gt, chrome tinted windows chrome rims,
steeda cobra R style hood, and saleen body kit, and lowered inch
and a half.... all i can say is.... damn..... makes me want to tear
every time i see it |

My dad has a black 99GT and i have a black 93 Cobra. No color looks beter when clean. Its also the hardest color to keep looking that good. Whatever color you get, im sure you will enjoy the car. |

The best color for the 2000 mustang gt is red it's a racing color my brother owns a 25th anniversary one in red and it looks very beatiful and the tires damn have to change them too much so just imagine how it runs jejeje.... |

my 99 35th GT. But, I would love a 2000 Cobra in the Mystic Gold.
or another 35th GT in White or Silver. I like Black, but I've had it.

I jsut bought my 2000 mustang GT and its black. I've got the mustang on the rear bumper in whit letters and its just perfect and screams speed. I also work at FORD and the performance red, black, yellow, and silver are some of my fav's but personally I think black is the fastest looking color. |

I really fell in love with the Dark Satin Green offered on the '98's... but they didn't offer that color on the new models.
I was torn between Silver and Black... I really couldn't make up my mind, so I decided to leave it to the fates... there were 4 GT's on their way to the dealership... 2 Silver, and 2 Black... I decided that, whichever made it to the dealership first, was the one I'd get.

The one color i wish i could get is the teal color from the 1993 Cobra, maybe its just the car and color combination but i think that teal is awesome. Second choice would be the exclusive mystic, the first time i saw it i loved that color(s). But anyways......black is cool too. |

I used to think mustangs were nice cars. Big fan of the "classic" stangs. And then I saw the redesigned 99 and I feel in love. I heard comments from people about the large bumper, and the sharp edges, I love it all! I look at 99-00 and I think fast, agressive, and TOUGH.
Colors wise, I love the dark blue and the black. Great colors!

I'm a sucker for the Fox Mustangs from '87 to '93 and my favorite color for them is white with one blue racing stripe down the middle, Esp. on a GT convertable. My fav. color for the '99 is silver |
