What happens when you are out after dark in a 2013 Ford Mustang and you can’t quite make out where the curb is…or you want to make sure people know (beyond the exhaust note) what you just rolled up in? Ford’s got the answer with a slick, albeit borderline tacky, new option on the new 2013 Mustang. It is a pony projection light which is portrayed via the lenses beneath the side view mirrors. Activated immediately after the driver unlocks the door, this projection is sure to let you, and everyone else within the area, know for sure it’s a legend you have ridden into town.

kinda like the tacky wide angle mirror insert found on the 2012,s. absolutely worthless. But I do like the intermittent rear turn signals. If I recall that was first used on a 69′, 70′ Mercury Cougar.
I like the idea never seen anything like this wish my lightning would project a lightning bolt
It’s surprising they’d add a feature like this. It is pretty tacky and doesn’t belong on this kind of vehicle.
tacky in the same way the illuminated grill pony was for the 67
ITS JUST A UDDLE LIGHT AND IT ONLY COMES ON WHEN HE PRESSES THE UNLOCK BUTTON. NOT A BIG DEAL, I DONT THINK ITS ANYTHING SPECIAL BUT ITS REALLY NOTHING TO TAKE INTEREST IN TO BASH.
It’s not tacky at all. In Fact it’s fairly slick and subtle. It can only be seen at night and it looks cool when it’s on. Plastic flame stickers on the side are tacky. After market exhausts that sound like an amplified bumble bee are tacky.
I saw these last night at my monthly Mustang car club meeting and they are so cool. I want them on my 2010 Mustang, my boyfriend is going to look into if my 2010 has the wiring to accomodate these mirrors. Great idea Ford!
