A few days ago the lights on my rear view mirror stopped shutting off. I think I hit a bump to hard.

The only way I can shut them off is if I put the switch right in the middle of the off/on position (very hard to do). Also It seams like after a while the car will shut them off for me after I shut off the engine. I've started the car in the morning sometimes and the light will come on till I play with the switches again.

So, do I need a whole new rear view mirror or can this be fixed?

I missed the year. A 94-95 will shut the light off after a little bit.

I agree with the above - dont forget the dimmer switch too. If it's a door pin switch, they're 5 bucks at AZ.

Good luck.

Hrmm, how could I tell if it's the door switch? The door alarm shuts off when I close the door.

BTW, this is a 95 Cobra Convertable (if it matters).
I'd check the dimmer.

Those switches are independent from the dimmer and the door switches, I put a convrt mirror in my hatch because I never liked the light in the headliner. They have continuous power, problem is in the switches, unplug and remove the mirror the switches should pop out, try cleaning them,
