Air Bag sensor location?

Just bought a 2000 GT... and it's got a blinking, then solid air bag warning light.

Mechanic tells me it's a code -9 (times blinking) ... which indicates a short circuit between the battery and the passenger side air bag sensor.

Question: Where is the passenger air bag sensor located on the 2000 - 4.6?

I'd like to take a look at the connector just to make sure it's not cracked, broken, bent...etc.

I'm aware of the warnings in messing around with airbags... just need to know where it's located.

Thanks.

There are no external crash sensor on the 2000 Mustang. The SRS contains two sensors which are integral to the RCM (Restraint Control Module).

Your code 9 is Passenger Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Battery or Ignition not Passenger Air Bag sensor.

Thanks Topless...

Sounds like you know your way around this thing. How do I fix it? Sorry... don't know what the SRS is... or how to stop this airbag light from staying on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have the same issue. Air bag light and abs. I put new airbags in my new 2000 out of my 2000 with a blown engine. Can I just plug in the RCM from my old car or does it need reprogramming
