need help picking a carb and intake combo

I have an 67 with a 289 2v all stock except for long tubes, and a mild cam. Dont ask me the grind on the cam, dont know it came with the car when I got the car. Stock intake and stock 2bbl carb. I am looking into getting a 4bbl and a nice intake combo, and well Im not the best at this so I would appreciate a little help. Also if any one has a combo that they want to get rid of for under arround 250 let me know Id like to talk. I know Im gona spend a lot more than that on a new one, but funds are limited. Thanks in advance for the help

I recommend doing a search. You should get plenty to look at. When I did, it seems that the Edelbrock Performer RPM, RPM Air Gap, and Weiand Stealth are the most commonly recommended aftermarket aluminum intakes, and a carb around the 600 cfm range. That's assuming that you're going w/ a mild to moderate street engine. I picked up a used Stealth and 600 cfm Holley for less than $200 combined.

I do recommend the search, though. I remember that others mentioned some older Ford intakes that they feel work well. That's a nice idea, especially if you're wanting to stay period-correct, all Ford parts, or want something a little different than others are running.

I was actually going to say a Weiand Stealth and a Holley 600. You're right, though; a search in the Classic Tech forum will be more effective.
