Did the Gas pedal mod.

We are talking about adjusting the height of the pedal!!!

I love when people that have never done a mod know all about how bad it is. I did this YEARS ago, lots of other folk did too, and I've been on stangnet the whole time. Wouldn't I have read about all the horror stories by now??? No. Because there weren't any.

This thread is retarded.:dead:

Those that are claiming that this mod has a "performance benefit" are the ones that I (along with others) have targeted in this thread. I didn't see where anyone that knocked it had anything to say about how "bad it is".

We are merely trying to point out that there is nothing to gain performance-wise so that little Johnny doesn't read this thread and think that he DID gain 10 hp and tell 86 buddies about how much power it's worth.
Don't get offended just because it's a mod you did, and it turns out to be worthless.

Also, contrary to popular belief, your accelerator cable and pedal system actually has a ****load of engineering built into it.

BTW, plenty of mods here...all installed myself. Been on Stangnet just about as long as you have, and that don't mean squat. :nonono:

You're right about one thing.....this thread IS retarded. :notnice:

Bu-bye!

What the hell does my 2-year-old time slip have to do with this thread??

You sir, are a jack-ass.

BTW, your contribution to this thread is......???

Now your PM is public........it's obvious you hadn't even read my post:lol:

This is exactly why I hate posting on StangNet. No one ever listens to good tech here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your only fault is over-analyzing a simple harmless throttle cable mod. As I stated, I've had this mod for over 85,000 miles with no problems. As far as my qualifications, you can read my sig......my track numbers are all done with an all-stock longblock. I take products that designers like yourself design and improve upon them. I suggest that you stay away from Stangnet and forums like it if you can't handle a little challange. "good tech"

And here was my reply to your PM back to me....

"Hey, I understand the need for improving vehicles for performance, but you must understang that as a designer for a major manufacturer, you can't always get what you want. I would LOVE to be able to design parts for my customers with only performance in mind, but it doesn't work that way.
I respect what you've done on the track, but calling my integrity into question by slamming my track times is just not right. One has nothing to do with the other. I have better things to do with my time and money than dump them into my car (which I've already spent too much on). I have a wife (doesn't work) and 3 children to support, with one kid in college. If you were in the same situation, you could appreciate how much time and effort goes into that.
People will do what they want, and I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is people making claims that aren't factual. Pure and simple. While I feel this mod doesn't even belong in the "Tech" forum, that's my opinion, but that doesn't change the fact that it is not a performance mod in the classic sense.
Now if it's done for ergonomics, and the only claims were such, you would have never heard from me in that thread.
I hope we can "bury the hatchet" here.

Good luck to you. :flag: "
-------------------------------------------

I think I handled that pretty well. And I thought we may have been able to settle our little discussion amicably, but it's becoming obvious that you have little or no class. Dragging private discussions into public is over the line. But since it's already out there, cap away!

This thread is headed for lock-up, so with that I bid you farewell.

Engineers can design an absolutely perfect piece of hardware. Though, unfortunately in the real world, the the people that are directly involved with manufacturing and installing that hardware don't always conform to the Engineer/Designers wishes.

Yeah, but how fast is your car?

This is the mountain we climb everyday in design. :bang:

Well stated. And thanks for sticking your neck out here. God knows you'll probably get attacked for it.

The lesson learned here should be to not send intimidating PM's to people you don't know.:rlaugh: You don't know me or what I do for a living. But you are an "Engineer"......every post you make you have to mention the fact.:nonono: Perhaps you designed the awesome chirping throw-out bearings in our cars or maybe the IAC, that last as long as a fart in a hurricane.......or did you design the back-breaking GT seats that we suffer with everyday ? So c'mon please tell us what it is you are so proud of that you can't keep from talking about it.:bang:

Not trying to start anything here....but since your original PM was made public, your "reply" here was profanity free and you try and look like the good guy here and are being all nice and crap.
Your orginal PM and the rest of this thread, your calling Jay C names and acting like your better than him, and you just overall expressed a much different attitude...its like its been written by 2 differnt people.

Please dont try and make yourself look like the good guy here....because both of you stepped out of line IMHO.
