Hi all, I'm new the the forums, from what I've seen so far this is a great site.

I did a search and found this was a common problem, but none of the threads I found fit my particular problem.

I took out the radio in my 06 v6 convertible to wire in a line out converter so I could add some subwoofers and an amplifier. After the converter was installed and the power wire for the amp and the rca's from the converter were run through the car, and I had put everything back together, I find that my car won't shift out of park. I crank the car and everything works fine until I depress the brake and try to shift into drive. The button on the side of the shifter will not budge. I've read the manual and I can't get the brake-shifter interface override thing to work. I called my local ford dealer and the very rude service tech. told me to check and make sure the brake lights were working and that all my fuses were good. The brake lights work and all of the fuses in the interior fuse box are intact. I haven't checked the high current fuses in the engine compartment.

and ideas? Thanks in advance

Check fuse #7 to see if the OD cancel has blown. Also, confirm in the distribution box that 45 & 54 are intact. These PCM fuses will go before any mico/mini relays. This does sound like something in the shift-interlok, however.
