great video, got everybody thinkin doesnt it? the part with the bf dying gettin crushed by the wall with his gf really spooked me, good thing ive grown out of the street racing seen, TRACK IS WHERE ITS AT, everybody needs to send this video to all there racing buddies, it would probably actually get around faster than we think , its better than not doing anything, im gonna send the link right now...u should to, dont say nah, what if it was ur kid/wife/mom/loved one, yall have a good night!

i watched it and was not effected emotionally at all, but thats because im dead inside, but it did in fact reach me on a different level such as "damn that would suck cause i could no longer drive my mustang" level, but regardless if it makes you feel sad/regretful it should appeal to everyones common sense of how something like that could **** up your life.
I used to go to the drags every weekend for over 4 years, I had more close calls going to and from the track than ever racing on the track. I once looked over to my friend who was driving (we were in a truck towing the race car) and said, "you know, I think we would be safer if we wore the helmet going to and from the track than at the track!" He agreed.
Bullitt, was that from other guys that were going to race, you driving excited, or just random drivers on the road?
Random drivers..........people do not understand that when you tow, you cannot possibly stop as fast as they do or maneuver like they can.
If I had a dollar for every time I've thought that.... Towing boats in FL behind my ol' 'burban guys would annoy the hell outta me like that.

My own graphic warning...
First, it is truly unfortunate that the only place you will ever see that video is on the web, because the weenies that run our traffic safety boards would be way too afraid of offending someone. Never mind that it might save a life.
The remainder of this post I would like to address to the folks who are street racers...and by the way, a clear freeway, industrial park, or empty street, is still a street...so it's still illegal...I appreciate the point of view, but it just doesn't hold water...please read on;
Second, This is the warning part...I have a job that causes me to interact with street racers fairly often...I give no quarter. There is no warning, I arrest them and take their cars, period. If street racing is your thing...cool. You are job security for me and my troops. Just don't whine and cry when your in the back of my car and your car is on a flat bed on it's way to the impound yard. That $500 bail and the impound fee are chump change compared to the misery of knowing you are responsible for killing someone. Oh, and by the way...we can sieze you car and sell it. At one point we had a corner of our impound yard filled with Acuras, Hondas, Mustangs and other fairly decent cars. Some we sell, some we send to the crusher, just to make a point.
Third...another graphic warning...Don't run. We can probably out drive you, and we don't train to only drive in a straight line...our cars might be slower (some of them
), but we have other cool stuff you don't. First and foremost, more cops / cars, and we will come by the dozens. Then there's the Spike strips, radios, helicopters and my personal favorite, PIT bars. We will PIT you and it will probably thrash your ride...too F'n bad. I like nothing more than doing a PIT on some fool who thought he was home free. Oh and think about this...it maybe the first time you've run from the cops, but in most cases, it's not the first time we have chased someone. In my jurisdiction we have very realistic pursuit training every year...like I said, it ain't gonna be our first rodeo.
I'm sure there are some folks out there who will think I'm an A**h*le, or worse. So be it. Some one may want to flame this or have some derogatory comment...to them I say, think about this, it isn't complicated. You are driving a 4000lb bullet. Treat it like a loaded gun. If you want to shoot it do it at the range (track). There are car clubs all over the country that will take your money and let you drive at one of their track days. Go play there, not on the road / highway. Otherwise you could meet my friends and I, and we have no tolerance for fools.
Lastly, I'm not your average police officer. I am a full on car guy. I own two Mustangs...an 05 GT with no mods (for now), and a very modified 88 LX Hatchback that I autoX and do HPDE days with. I spent several years driving in Europe, and I like to drive fast just like every other red blooded car guy on the planet, BUT, when and where are the key factors. A lot of people have pulled up next to me in both of my personal cars, and revved off. Trust me the alpha male in me is sorely tempted, but I if I did I would be a hypocrite. Every once in a while I run into some one who will not take "no" for an answer. After their inevitable burn out or other demonstration of immaturity, I follow them to their next stop and/or get on my phone and ask for a marked unit to stop them...then, I write them a ticket. Yup, even when I'm off-duty (if I have the time). My point is, you never know who's in that car next to you. So don't be a dumba**.

the above post is one of the first things you say on stangnet? come on and threaten everyone like this is some kind of organized street racing gang? im not going to get into a huge argument over it on the internet because its dumb and this thread has already run its course. I also will not say that street racing is ok because its most definitely NOT. But what are those of us without a nearby track supposed to do? i trailer or drive my car 100+ miles one way to race 3 times. that sucks, there is no track close to me because here in connecticut (the countries richest state) the state's policy is much like yours, instead of offering an alternative, they would rather punish people and make money off ruining their lives. they wont even allow donald trump or casino's the rights to build a race track here. but every weekend they bust hundreds of kids for racing, and the next weekend they just come right back. in my humble opinion the states should lay off some of the police force and focus the money they save on giving us legitimate, SAFE places to race.
the texting while driving is scary.. When I was rebuilding my transmission a few months ago a co worker gave me a ride home and he was texting in traffic on the highway.. Stop and go rush hour driving and this guy is texting..

Well aren't you a hero.
I brought my car to the track ONE time. I had no way to get it there other than driving it the 2 hour drive. I make one pass against something not even worth racing, and get a time that doesn't mean ****. Second pass, the car breaks, I call AAA and wait in the parking lot til midnight for a tow truck. Then pack 4 people in that with the fat ass driver listening to rap music for the 2 hour ride home. Sleep a couple hours and go to work the next day on no sleep and pissed cause my car is broken.
On any other weekend, we make the 3 min drive out to the deserted highway at night with no intersections or other traffic. We stop, get the job done and go home and drink beers and watch the videos of the races and everyone's a happy camper.
If there was a track within a half hour of my house, I would be there every weekend, and I would probably never race my car on the street again. Yea, everyone rips on it once in a while, but I would no longer see a need to come to a dead stop on the highway at 1 in the morning to race someone. But until then, that's what we have to do. I'm not going to race from stop lights or down the highway at noon time on a saturday through traffic and run into your mom in her minivan.
Damn, SGT Rock, that was pretty over the top, man. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about cops like you when I choose to street race because where I go, it's deserted. Seriously, if a guy goes out of his way not to endanger anyone else and is level-headed about what he's doing, you think he deserves to lose his car? You liken going to the track with your car to going to the range with your gun. I would use a similar analogy: Taking your car to a flat, straight, deserted road to race is just like taking your firearm out into the boonies to shoot. If they're done correctly, neither will endanger anyone else. I guess I don't care so much about the law as I do about the morality. And, to me laws do not equal morals.
