The exploder intake cleans up well though.

Get that GT40 and elbow and you'll be happy. Wish I could've found a GT40 for that cheap. I already had it ($600!!!) but swapped to a TFS Track Heat because of the nasty Comp Cams Nitrous cam I wound up getting to match it. More power but waaaay heavier.
trickflow intakes are stupid heavy, that's why i sold it and got a GT-40.
the gt40 and cobra are essentially the same intake. the gt40 upper is just a bit lighter and much better looking. the only advantage the cobra has over the gt40 is that the upper can be ported and the gt40 upper cannot.
there is no need to port the gt-40 upper anyways, it's already smooth in the tubes. which is basically the only reason to extrude hone the cobra upper, to smooth it out and let the air flow easier.

can't wate to finish my car and show you guys what a real GT40 intake lookes like
i'll post mine up after i get my car wednesday. the only thing i don't have is the cover, which nobody makes anymore after market ones, and i'm not paying over $100 for a stocker.

now, to get back on topic. if you can get that gt-40 for 175, buy it. the cheapest i've seen lately is 250 and i've seen one as much as 475.

I don't know where they get that a GT40 will support 425hp, and a Cobra will support 350. You'd be pretty hard pressed to get that kind of power N/A with either one of those intakes. Besides, it's basically the same damn intake. The Cobra is a little nicer because you can port it out on the top side. But why would you want to? If you are going to do that much work, you might as well just buy a better aftermarket intake. I would get whatever intake you could find the cheapest. I bet you anything, if you put one on, and then swap it out for the other, it's going to make the exact same hp.
