Stang's Totaled - Goodbye to CobraRed's SN95

You have got to be kidding me..... Man I didn't think I would see this thread. You are the one that inspired me to get that B&M Hammer shifter and you had one of the best looking sn95s. I hope you get back into another stang asap.

oh my effing god dude...this totally sucks....i got a little choked up myself when i saw the pics, i cant imagine how you're feeeling...im incredibly glad your ok man... damn that was such a nice car

well, on a goodish note, maybe you can sell all your stuff and buy a termi

That was a beautiful car. Really too bad!

However, I wouldn't completely get out of mustangs. You've invested a lot in aftermarket parts and there is no way you'll recover that much. Why not buy another 96-04 stang and swap some of the parts on? Or... you can build a FFR cobra. That would make good use of the engine you are building. :nice:

I've had a similar brake problem before too. I was driving the family's 91 Aerostar van and traffic came to a dead stop. I got on the brakes very very hard, infact, using pretty much all my strength (old ford brakes, they weren't enough for the van). I managed to get stopped in time and went on my marry way. About 10 miles down the road, I tapped the brakes for a sweeping highway off ramp. The brakes felt a bit funny, so I slowed down and tried again. Hmm, that's not good, the pedal easily goes to the floor. I had a flat level road and knew there was a turn off coming, so I used the gears to loose most of my speed. I made the turn and parked the van in that nearby parking lot. After we got it home, we found the brake hose blew apart on the passanger side! The rubber hose ripped and seperated from the metal tubing. I was lucky to have plenty of open space to get the car parked safely. My mom and 2 sisters were in the car with me.

Wow! My first instinct was to make sure it wasn't April 1st, cause I really hate those jokes and 2nd instinct was making sure your OK. Sorry for your loss of your beautiful stang. I hope we all can learn from your experience (thanks for sharing the brakes issue) and that you bounce back in another great stang. Look forward to your next set of posts - more positive this time and let us know how we can help for now.

Ouch, sorry to hear about that. Its sad to see you car like that, I always liked your car:(
Be fortunate your still with us though and only came away with a few cuts. by the looks of it, it could of been a lot worse for you.

Whats the plan now?

For those who've seen my build thread, the engine in the stang wasn't exactly my pride and joy. I have a forged 4.7, blower, blower cams, and -10 fuel system that all are in boxes. Those will be chilling for awhile (understandably). I'm going to buy a beater 4cyl (likely truck) and drive that around. Then look for a blown engine 96-04 GT or Cobra. I'd even consider finding a gernaded engine 03 cobra and swapping a 700hp 2V in there to piss everyone off :)

NOOOOOOOO! When I saw this thread I didn't want to open it. Glad your ok, but I too never thought I would ever see a thread like this from you. I like your game plan though. Your aero is one of the most beautiful auto areos I have ever seen. I'll miss seeing it.

Well, glad you're ok ... most important thing.
More to the point, you have a great attitude on losing the ride but not the spirit. Looking forward to the direction you take the build thread now that you have to find a new chassis.

She was a great looking car and hard to follow up but I'm sure you're going to find something worthy. ;)

Wow that sucks bro. Always liked your car. It is always a shock to see one of these threads, even knowing they are inevitable to happen. Glad you are ok, cars can be replaced, lives cant. Im sure you will get back in the saddle again. I remember how freaked out I was when I spun one of my older cars out and totaled it, every turn after that accident for a couple of days felt like I was going to spin out. It just takes some time man. Good luck :)

Also... on the upside, chicks dig scars :D

Ugh I could cry. :(

I am glad you are ok but damn to I hate to see such a sweet car go away. Fortunatly I see nice shells (engine dead or dying) here all the time for a grand or two. There is even a 96 V-6 near me for $300. Needs paint and interior is filthy....

Anyway, you have got all the good parts so finding a suitable chasis should be fairly painless. You are keeping your brakes and suspension stuff right?
