Drivetrain Throw Out Bearings

With my experience, a bad TO bearing will make a nasty sound when the clutch is depressed. I've never heard a problem when the clutch was disengaged, possibly a bad pilot bearing, or input shaft bearing?

I've been told a pilot bearing will only make noise with the clutch in, because that is the only time it is engaged.

Tomorrow is the first chance I will have to get her up in the air, so I'll check it out then.

I've had a NUMBER of TOBs that only made noise until pressure was applied to the pedal. Nearly all of them were aftermarket TOBs.

I'm a firm believer in FORD FACTORY TOBs and steel retainers.

*Skreet-skreet-skreet-skreet*

Me: Damn :( *adds a little more tension to the clutch cable to get rid of the noise until I have a chance to drop the tranny and swap out the TOB*
