1997 Gt Vert Driver Window Issue, Help Needed

When the drivers window button is pushed the window goes down all the way to the bottom and then begins a loud banging noise and the window motor is still trying to turn. I have to hit the up button to stop because it sounds like it will break the glass if I let it go. Anyone with suggestions, Ive tried the old google search and not a single post anywhere with similar issue

Does the window go up ok when you go to roll it up?

i don't think it would be the window motor but something may have gotten lose in the door. take of the panel and see if anything is caught on anything in the panel, also make sure that anything on the panel that may be causing it to interfere with the motor system

I'm not saying it is the window motor. I'm asking as a process of elimination. I'm thinking the window switch is messed up.

Haha. Gotcha. If the window doesn't stop when it hits the bottom, it may be the switch.
