Hey guys,
I'm going to do a 351 in my 95 and going to use BBK ceramic 1 3/4 LTs and want to avoid scraping things. A friend of mine has 1 7/8 accufab custom headers on his 410 and when I looked at it he has maybe 2 inches off the ground if that. He mentioned wanting to change to a different setup of LT and something to the effect of a mid pipe or something to avoid the scraping issue he has. I forgot exactly what he said and wanting to know you guys opinion on the matter. The car is lowered too by the way.

I'm pretty low . I can count on 1 hand how many times the header has actually scraped.

1 3/4 bbk Long tubes

Pay attention?
My lowered C6 was lower than any fox I've ever seen and I had zero issues as long as you took turns and speed bumps with some consideration.

If you look under your car, how many inches will you say you have from the ground to the bottom of the header at it's lowest point from where it starts to turn up?

same question for you lol.

That car is gone, the headers on my current car are about 18" off the ground and it's lowered a good bit :D
Corvette had long tubes and a chin spoiler. You can imagine a corvette lowered about 1.5" being pretty low lol.
If you're saying you spend a lot of time driving over speed bumps and bad roads then maybe a mid length header will better suit you

No I try to avoid them even when they are present but don't necessarily come in contact with a lot anyway.

Is mid length a shorty?

18 inches is a lot lol. I just texted him to ask him and will reply when he replies but I know he has no where near that much clearance lol. My 92 chevy s 10 at stock height and if it had longtubes would probably be lower than 18 inches lol

I have no idea. This pic is the best I can do at the moment to answer that.
Looks like you have at least about 4-8 inches from ground to the bottom of header. 4 is better than my boy's 2 but still would be pushing scraping everything probably.

8 on the other hand would probably be real real decent

No it's in between. I don't know the details of your build so I can't tell you what's best suited but it's marginal differences on a relatively stock car.

My headers have so muchclearance because they're flipped up and forward for turbos. Was just giving you a hard time

lmao all good.

my friend has custom accufabs on his 410. I'll do a 351 but buider said it will be around a 400 using a 3.750 crank. Edelbrock performer rpm 2 intake, AFR 205s, custom cam, and N/A.

I have ran shorties on my 302 with mods since 2004. I have always heard that with LT's the sound and tone is much much different and better. My friend's custom accufabs he said hang much lower than the BBK's but he wasn't totally sure. As for sound difference from Mid length to LT's I guess I have to check some you tube vids with similiar setups with both pipes
