I have a brand spanking new T5Z. I just bought a steel cluster support to replace the stamped steel stock one, but I still think that trying to shove 425-450 fw trq thru it will prove foolish.
From browsing craigslist over the holidays, it looks like it is MUCH cheaper to find a used T56 than a TKO. I've read that a Cobra T56 is a pretty easy swap, but a F body T56 takes a lot more work. But there are so many F Body T-56 out there it's silly. I saw one that at least looked clean on the outside, claimed to be AOK for $900. Cheapest TKO I saw was $1500. $600 pays for the bellhousing and other stuff.

So my old pos truck has had me praying a lot lately, that’s a good thing I suppose. Except it was for a little more selfish reason than usual, I wanted God to let me get to where I was going without it breaking down.

The engine and transmission both needed to be rebuilt, I needed to change out the heater core, and so on, and so on.

So instead of spending five grand and a lot of time to make it a good $3500 truck, I did this.

Eew. A Dodge.

My Mercury has started making a creaking/popping noise if I turn the steering wheel while it's sitting still. Wife and I were taking it to Dallas and OKC, but looks like I'll need to downgrade its status again.

New? No, I can’t bring myself to buy any vehicle new till I win the lottery:p.

It’s a 2013 with 32k miles. The PO really babied it, it’s really nice. Those days are over for the truck, lol.

$15.6k. I feel like I got a good deal. No previous damage at all.

I’ll be replacing that Nikel plate as soon as I can get my Iowa Hawkeyes plate in.

By the time I got the keys last night it was completely dark outside. This morning was the first chance to really look it over in the sunlight.

I rented a Ram Laramie last year for a week. It was like Ron White's in-laws.... LOOOOOOOAAAAAADDDDDEEDDD. I always thought a HEATED steering wheel was a stupid assed idea. Until I had one on a 21 degree day. It is SOOO much easier to text and drive when you don't have to wear gloves!

A heated steering wheel IS a stupid assed idea. Most new cars have a button on the wheel that allows Siri to do that for you....You Just push the button on the wheel (with your gloves on) and say "text" (a person in your contacts),...then Siri asks you what you want to say,...you say it,..... she repeats what you said,......asks if you want to send it,.... and you confirm..
All do able with your fat fingers stuffed into your Bun-Bun fur lined winter glovies.

Yeah, not sure siri is reliable. Push button, say : Text nancy. Do you want anything from Dunkin Donuts. Siri repeats back: Text Billy. Are you with a drunken sailor. I say No no no!! Text NANCY You stupid bi*ch! Siri says: Sending text "you stupid bi^ch to Nancy" Then the phone starts ringing...caller ID says Nancy (my wife).......begin looking for fastest way off the island....
