^ yep. I regret that mod for sure, although the bumper cover is in bad shape so i wasn’t too upset. I need a whole new cover
My coils are dropping like flies. I’ve got 3 dead cylinders now. Gonna tear this sht pile down again and investigate i guess. It ain’t happening today, I’m over it.
I don't want this to sound like an " I told you so" because you don't need it.
EDIS. DIYautotune touts it as the simplest DIS ignition system out there, and yet there are all these guys going beyond the simple to complicate things. (C.O.P.)
And struggling.
I'm not suggesting that you change things over, as you've already gone down that path...but I'll never look to complicate my system ( even when I start converting the thing over to MS3x) given that it works so well.

I think i missed a setting in MS and roasted the coils. It had fixed dwell and needed to be standard dwell. I had it right before at some point, not sure how it got changed.
I’ve been laid up with a nasty virus the last couple of days and don’t have the steam to mess with it
And I’ll still stick by my statement that EDIS isn’t any easier than what I am using. I just made it seem that way

Yup... you change the tune to reflect a tfi setup and probably never changed the dwell setting back.... that sucks.

That’s not accurate. All of my issues stemmed from the lack of a shielded wire for the crank pickup. This is a residual issue from me trying to work through that and trying different things out. If you recall, the coils all tested fine way early in the game and the trigger has always given me fits.
Outside of that, I’ve been bed ridden since Sunday. Thought it was flu, but that was negative. We’ve gone on to testing for Lyme disease now since my symptoms match that illness and i had a tick a few weeks ago from a hunting trip. It’s not any fun.
That lyme stuff ain't no joke, hope you're ok. I'll cross a couple plug wires for ya.

3 dead coils for sure. Switched the wiring around to rule that out and it was fine. The coils are toast. Looking for some used ones before i order from Rock Auto

I love Rock Auto. 3 coils for $48 to my door.
Admittedly, they’re the cheapest ones they had, but i had to use my spare change (literally) to fund this.
Let’s hope this is it for a while, parts and labor wise. I need to get creative on how to fund and alignment and new front tires.
