Fox Foxbody quarter window

Hey, my left quarter window recently cracked, and i cannot find a replacement that says mustang on the side. I went on ebay and all the ones i could find had bad rubber molding. Does anybody know where i can find one?

Most all you find used will have rubber in bad shape, I have a couple spares, they are reproduced, but they do not have the mustang lettering, I'm sure someone has attempted to restore them but couldn't find anything.

The reproduction glasses won’t have the mustang lettering in it. There are “mustang” stickers you can buy online that mimic the factory glass.

This. If you want new, aftermarket windows won't have the mustang wording. Some guys have made stickers to put on the window to mimic it, but I don't have a source.

Or you can do one of two other things.

Pay $500+ for a factory NOS window in mint condition

or restore a set of windows by way of fill/sanding the moldings and painting in trim black.

My opinion. As much as an odd feature the wording in the window is for any car, an 87-93 needs to have it.

I have heard guys if you find the right glass guy find them through a old Carlite warehouse.
I redid my set on my car the lasted 7-8 years but are starting to bubble and a couple of fine cracks. I have been keeping a eye out for a second set and finally found a set on Facebook market a month or 2 ago. Turned around and sent them to Teamvisionz for refinish. They are not fast but the price is reasonable enough. I have not seen there quality in person but I have not seen any complaints.

Where's a good how-to on restoring these? I have a set to try but I have questions on what sort of supplies I should use to build up the rubber in between sanding?

There used to be some post showing how it’s done but I can’t seem to find them. However, the process is fairly simple. If the windows are really bad you may want to use a flexible bumper filler, but most of the time it just requires sanding, then coating with a high build primer. Repeat this process until the surface is smooth, then paint with black flexible bumper paint.

The only downside is there is a character line on the window molding that can easily be lost in the restoration.

Mike,
Nope still waiting I know they got a bit behind because they ran a sale on their 1 year anniversary of this process back in October it was a half off sale. Mine went in just after that so call it first of November. I will call them first part of March if I dont hear anything before then. I will be sure to share some pics when I get them. BTW I did the newer diamond process and window tint.

Wow, I just read the info on that link. That sure does sound impressive. And it says the price is per pair so that's $235 for 1 pair, correct? Surely someone on here has used them.

If demand is that high they should up the price. If the final product is that good, their service is worth more that $230ish.

Upping the price would slow demand. Then they could at least find a good balance and not have a massive backlog.

I can see why it takes so long. 10-15 coats with up to 3 days of drying time each? Wow

Regardless, I have a $50 pair of used quarters I could send in that I won't miss for a while , or try to do them myself, or buy the LRS repros for $330. What to do?

My originals are terrible. I need to do something.

They did do some price adjustments, before October I believe the price was around ~300 IIRC. I talked to them after there anniversary sale and they redid the pricing to what it is today and it was just that based on demand and time. I sent the spare set so not really any hurry but plan to do this as a spring project so hopefully get them in the next 8 weeks.
