You [do] realize that I have uh... imbued others :hide: with dark and mysterious magics, right? :O_o:

You cannot trust anyone around here :ninja:

Sometimes, I'll give out um 'gifts' and not say a thing. :nono:

It's fun to watch them be discovered. :rlaugh:

Trust no one

Came in today and got it sanded and ready for primer. I’ve got other :poo: to do today so this is where i leave it. I don’t have time to mask it, that’ll take me another hour at least.

Yep, this is the process I’m not to fond of. :poo: load of sanding, then, more sanding, and then, more sanding! It’ll be worth it though. I also still have to recondition my quarter glasses. I have a new windshield lined out, and still waiting on the lower back glass molding to show up from some joker on eBay. I can’t wait to start putting everything back together when it’s all painted. I really enjoy that side of this business. I enjoyed doing the body work too.

So I started taping up the car for primer this afternoon and found that the masking tape was pulling the original white paint off the tops of my panels. I DO NOT want my brand new paint job to start peeling on me so I decided to strip it off. It was only coming of the very tops of the panels but I don’t want to chance it. The bottoms of the doors will be ok. I just think 30 years of wear and tear did it’s number on my paint. So, here it stands and primer will have to wait a day or two. Just like they say, “It’s all in the prep.” I’m going to do the same on my roof and hatch but the elusive PDR friend of mine had to go out of town, he said he’s coming back home tomorrow.

I can’t wait until the prep and paint work is done so I can start putting this pig back together. But that is still a ways away

So I got all my cars delivered and phone call made and started taping up the car for primer. Forgive me on the tape up job it’s been 15 years since I did that but it’s all sealed up.

2-3 coats of etch primer to protect the metal before we go over the repaired areas with a couple coats of epoxy primer.

Sprayed some epoxy primer on the repaired parts of the panels. I’ll let this sit for a week or so before I block it. I still have to wrap up the bumpers and ground effects. I don’t have much left on those. I also am going to start working on my quarter glasses. Dave gave me a good idea of what to use on those and I have some here at the shop.
