I am looking for a new or used oil dipstick tube for the SVO. I am almost positive that they are not any different then the standard 2.3 tube. Any info on this or where to find a new one? I am searched the web and have not found one. Maybe mine is just missing the hold down bracket and what have you?

Junkyard, they're basically all the same except the Merkur's which had a low oil level sensor built into the dip stick. Ranger, Mustang, etc. all the same. To my knowledge they are not produced by anyone any longer. If you go junkyarding look for one that's got a nice rubber seal on the stick, so that you won't have an air leak. If you don't have a choice, you can cut down an old straight spark plug boot, slide it over the dipstick, and it'll fit pretty tight on the tube as well. Ghetto but it works. Getting rid of air leaks makes a big difference in how a 2.3T runs, both in boost and off boost.

Thanks for the idea. I have had someone else tell me to use silicone while the engine is still warm after I clean it real good. I messed around with it and found that the nut insert for the hold down bolt is striped and I cannot remove the hold down bolt with hand tools. I will probably have to disassemble the upper intake and remove a few hoses to fix this issue. I will try the plug boot idea since I have an extra spark plug wire just laying round.
