Hello, I just got a 2000 mustang GT convertible with a 4.6L V8 engine that is seized up to high he11! I was thinking about swapping in a used 4.6L engine into it but I don't know how to swap a engine in general. I'm not looking to spend alot of money on it and I don't know if its worth it to fix it up, If anyone is able to talk to me around it and help me out i'd really appreciate it!

Hi,
Is the engine seized like run without oil or broken internals, Valvetrain, e.g.; a Timing chain snapped, etc.. What info were you given? That’s the first part, is it salvageable or a serious failure.
If it’s beyond repair, find a Ford Crown Vic CVPI (Police interceptor) or an F150, doesn’t need to be the same year, you’ll be transferring parts off your 4.6l motor to it. Ford made many vehicles using the 4.6l modular 2 valve SOHC motor.
CVPI’s with 4.6l 2V Motors were made until 2011
Can find them for reasonable cost, not as likely to be beaten to death as a Mustangs motor likely would.be, Raif the boneyards & find one. Call the boneyards or go & look for one that was wrapped around a tree with low mileage.
