I just bought my '98 GT about a 1 1/2 months ago and have been doing some research on building NA. But this seems to be absolutley ridiculous because doing so costs an arm and a leg for not so impressive power gains, I guess I am just used to the good old 302. Anyway when the funding permits I plan on getting a supercharger, but wanted to hear other peoples recommendations. I was leaning towards the Kenne Bell twin screw. They will be making a 96-98 GT version, but wouldn't it be worth it to upgrade to PI heads and get the 99-04 version? What else would I need to upgrade to do this. Please post any other companies you have experience with.

Good points. If you do get PI heads and want to S/C, make sure the have the swirl dams cut so your compression will be blower friendly.

I have looked at all the superchargers from every angle , I was first going to order a procharger , no questions asked , then for because of the money , I was going to go with a paxton novi 1000rr , vortech was my last choice because I like to be different . So then I was looking at the kenne bell , but my end decision was the vortech , for the simple reason of being a good price , not enough reported problems to scare me so they must be realiable , and they are probably the easiet to upgrade later .

i have to give a vote for procharger. i think the centrifugal style matches the cars powerband well. i myself have a 97 non-PI motor and mine has responded fantastic to the procharger. there is no lack of bottom end believe me. if anything, the centrifugal makes it a little easier to hook and get going. man that KB hits like a brick! its fun to ride in!
the reason i like the ATI over vortech and paxton is because its intercooled. just a lot safer measure in my eyes and looks hella cool up front.

Vortech is my vote. I havn't has any trouble with mine and i have had it for almost a year. I am going to custom fit a spearco intercooler this summer to accomdate for my boost. Procharger--I have heard not such good reviews. I have heard they blow oil after a year or so and the bearing go just about the same. I say this because my friend owned a procharger for his mustang and after about a year or so everything took a dump on him. Superchargers i think are all about preference and what type of power you are looking for. Centrifugal blower will allow more boost but will not come on strong until high RPM's. Roots blows are very nice because you have constant power at lower rpm's but die towards the top. I hope this helps good luck with your search.
