Dont laugh, but i saw the saleen in hollywood homicide, and one in person and fell in love with it.Im a current camaro owner, but want a new car.Ive read all the posts here and at other sites with lots of complaints about the quality of saleens and was a little dissapointed.Should i just get an 03 or 04 cobra instead and body kit it?Havent heard as many complaints aobut the cobra, and it is supposedly faster.
Or should i say screw it and go for the saleen? Also, were any saleens automatics?im just now learning about the saleens,i know thats a silly question as the higher end model corvettes are not automatics, only the base model was.is there anything wrong with getting a cobra and kitting it?i love the looks of the saleen, but power is equally important.any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

You would like either one.
Every stop light, gas station and anywhere else I stop someone comes up and ask about my car.
You can make a Saleen faster than a cobra and it will still be a
Saleen. You can kit a Cobra all you want and it will never be a
Saleen.
I have had no problems what so ever with my Saleen. :spot:

Thanks, thats very encouraging, and so must be the attention.I also like the rarity of a saleen,so id personally say screw it and go for the gold.I discovered that the only way to get an auto is ordering it as a new purchase option. So i guess its a hit miss thing with the saleens huh,i mean as far as having problems with them.ive seen many who have no complaints, and many who have....when you bought yours, did you ahve to pay for your color?i see at saleen.com that the color options are 6 grand extra, maybe i should score a low mileage used one off ebay....

You can get a killer deal on one at the saleen dealer here in
Nashville(Two Rivers Ford). I bought mine there, with 800 miles
on it and got it for 10k under sticker price. They have about 4 or5
in the showroom (red, blue, silver and they had a white one :D )
With the handling, looks, speed, and rarity of a Saleen, you cannot
go wrong.
If you want a really fast one. Buy a n/a, then put a Procharger,
Vortec, or KB on it. You"ll come out alittle cheaper and faster
then getting the s/c one. Thats the route I'm going.
Once you get a Saleen on the backroads you"ll forget all about
your camaro!!

WOW, I bet that is bad as f***. Why would you sell it?
Better have your ducks in a row when looking at one of them.
What did they do about the IRS. Is it upgraded?
I'd sell my soul for that sucker.

Sent you a PM.

The looks of the Saleen are AWESOME! The horsepower for the Cobra is great, but the looks (in my opinion) are lacking. They're just not aggressive enough. However, I would wait before you buy anything........the new stang is coming out soon! Saleen will have their version of the new stang as well. It's going to be a great year for mustang fans!
