Man it was quite a bitch to get this one wierd sized bolt undone that was holding on the EGR valve. It was an odd size. Turns out it was metric (10mm). 7/16ths and 3/8ths would not fit but 10mm would, odd. I had to go to Sears twice to get the right sized socket. It ended up taking about 4 hrs total to install, LOL. The intake spacer raised it up enough that getting the EGR valve (that little black circular thing on the far right side of the TB when looking at the car head on) wouldn't line up right because it needed to be raised a bit. I had to get my dad to use a fuggin' broom as a lever to raise it up enough so that I could get the thread started. If it wasn't for that one stubborn bolt I could've had it done in 30 mins or so.
The gains are very noticeable. Definetly pulls harder throughout the RPM range. Feels like I gained quite a bit of torque along with the HP.
My question:
Now it idles real funny, it seems to idle at 1100 rpm and when I'm slowing down from a roll in gear, like coming to a stop and I put the clutch in, the RPMs rise up to 1500-1800 rpm or so and sit there for 5-8 secs, then slowly come back down to 1100. It's odd. I don't even need to give it any gas to start out anymore. It seems like maybe the throttle position sensor got bumped or something. Maybe it will go away in time. I did reset the computer by the way. Anyone else have this problem? And did anyone have that odd sized wierd looking bolt on the EGR valve on their '01? Thanks in advance.
