Are 94-95 AODE gt's really that slow!

my car was a dog to vert and aode, after i put a hpipe, flows, 3.73 gears msd coil and wires and a few more minor things the first time at the track i ran a 15.2 very disappointed. but thats wheni first started learning about hp and tq and cars, more knowledge now, alot of track time under my belt, the right parts and cam valvetrain and nos later, hell yeah. now im gonna work on the sluggish aode.

Something wrong there. That's what I run, completely stock, with a full gaas tank, all kinds of junk in the trunk and 2.73 gears.

I ran a 13.66 @ 101 with a 1.9 60' time on 18" drag radials...

That was with the convertible aode in full street trim and me (240lbs). I think the total weight was around 3800lbs.

Not the best time but ETs are slowely coming down.

i dont know whats wrong with my car sometimes it acts up sometimes it dont. but when i use the juice its all right ive ran a best of 12.9, i guess when track conditions happend to be the best and and all the moons were alinged together, but on the norm 13.-13.4 depending if the engine is not cooled of enough or a mid to low bottle :) , right now im working on finding the best tire pressure so i can get those numbers a gain. but the low to mid 13 run on the juice  is taking its toll quick on the used v-6 stock tranny i have, i know it did to the original stock one i had.

What'as up guy's, hope you don't mind hearing from me since I am a V6 guy, but yeah, the new V6's are pretty quick, but you have to take one thing for certain. Just because we beat a GT once in a while, that doesn't mean the other guy was a good driver. Or he new they were raceing before the light turned green :)

While I have a slower 98 version, for the most part I can keep up with a same style GT.

whats better and what are the differences between a lentech valvebody and a shift kit

Shift kit - you drill some holes, put the gasket looking thing back on. Just re-routes a few lines.

Lentech actually opens lines, changing shift points, and increasing flow. In other words, the shift kit only does part of the job. Big difference between the two.

Pricewise I think a shift kit is about $50, and the Lentech is anywhere fron $300 - 600 (Those prices are a guess).

don't get a B&M shift kit, it ruined my AODE. i lost overdrive and it wouldn't go into 3rd half the time. the valvebody is alot safer and does the job right the first time, not half a$$ed like a shift kit. (my .02) although it did give me a reason to make the switch to a 5-speed.

AODE is the worst tranny ever. i rebuild it twice and i blow it up last week  :bang: . i just finish ordering my new AOD trany with stage 2 shift kit and it handle more than 750 hp. i can't wait to install it and drive my car with the real trany.
