WINGS vs. WINGLESS

  • Sponsors (?)

it's almost the anti-ricer aspect that makes the wingless look so appealing... if you hang around these mustang owners enough you begin to equate big wings with riced out 4 bangers. I guess the thought of being able to whoop most 4 cylinder imports without "all" the crucial added benefits and horsepower provided by gigantic spoilers is part of the mystique that draws me toward the wingless stang.

I can see how the stock spoiler looks like "rice", oh never mind no I can't ... there are a lot of cars without spoilers, they are called family sedans. The stock spoiler on a Mustang looks a lot better than without. It makes it look more aggressive like previously stated instead of like a 1989 Cavalier.

I think the Cobra trunk lid looks much, much better, aswell.
:stupid:
Don't go all wingless, go 03 Cobra wing atleast. Wingless looks like poo.

From the pictures posted, looks like the wing wins ... you could always take the hood scoop off to fit your pancake look better.

neither do rims
TIRES might but rims don't do crap

Weight reduction (if you've got $$$). Smaller rims for more sidewall = more straight line traction. Bigger rims with less sidewall = more responsive handling.

Not exactly as profound as a 100 shot, but compared to a piece of plastic bolted to the trunklid...........it's just sitting there.

It doesn't do anything. Looking aggressive doesn't make it a 12 second car.

exactly... what is the true purpose of a spoiler in the first place? increased stability at very high speeds? how often do you really need the downforce of the stock wing in everyday driving? I say the stock wing is unnecessary weight added to an already dead sexy car.

It probably doesn't even provide any downforce. Maybe 20lbs at 150mph if you're lucky. :D

Sure, why not? Passengers might not like it though.

Ah, screw 'em. :D
:bs: on passengers
I have no friends :(

I think I'll take my rear bumper off tomorrow. it'll look better than a wingless Stang too!!

:D

I think it depends on the wing and the overall look of the car. I don't like the 99-00 wing. I don't really like or dislike the 01-04 wing. I keep it bedcause it is there.

I can't stand any wing that sticks up higher than say ~4". WTF is the point. then again I am more old school than new school. I don't waste money on wings and plasic. I treat this car just like any other. wheels, paint, suspention and motor. when I restore a classic car I don't look for a bunch of plastic or bing wing for it. To me the age of the big wings and body's kits just make cars look wierd. they look like a toy or something. I can't belive the number of "pimped" out 15sec+ cars there are on the road.

I feal sorry for anyone who needs a wing to make there car "agressive" you exhaust and your timslip is supposed to do that.
